Thanks to @Johncalvincoffe for the quote "getting a lecture from Des Winter is like getting defibrillated...first it starts off chaotic and you don't know what's happening, then settles into an easy rhythm."
The incredible @des_winter gives the Sir Thomas Myles lecture at the Sylvester O'Halloran meeting. Inspiring, exhilarating, hilarious and charming as ever.
@jbconneely@Matersurgery It certainly has been an honour to learn from (and be terrified by) Gerry as a trainee, and now work alongside him and know his kindness, commitment and wit. A true giant of Irish surgery, his legacy within and outside of @matersurgery will endure through the skills he imparted.
Well done to to the CRS HIPEC CNS Mairead O Sullivan developing a patient information booklet for patient attending the National Peritoneal Malignancy Service at the MMUH.
Neil’s passing at such a young age is tremendous profound tragedy beyond words. His absence leaves a global void; Everyone who knew him is well aware of his incredible surgical prowess, impeccable judgment, innovative creative mind, keen wit, and engaging demeanor. Those people who did not know Neil may not recognize how their surgical practices have been influenced by him. Patients throughout the world will continue to benefit from his legacy. Rest in peace our dear friend Neil. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I cannot get over the dichotomy between Biden, voluntarily ceding power in a selfless effort to protect democracy... and Trump, inciting an insurrection and throwing the country into chaos to illegally retain power for himself.
Night and day.
@CallcardsEire @omegaman3000 Hi there. Yes @omegaman3000 still has them, in the original folder from the collectors club way back when. He has a decent collection of them.
