Fever Meme is now on Steam and set to (hopefully) launch July 4th. :) https://t.co/BH54SdGiMv If you liked The Stanley Parable, Undertale, or classic rage games like I Wanna Be the Guy, this game is a cross between all of them. #indiedev Wishlists are greatly appreciated. <3
I see why the developers of The Stanley Parable took 8 years to make it's sequel. I don't want to push out slop for the sake of making a quick buck. I've earned your trust, and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure I make a game worthy of being a sequel.
I'm genuinely worried about letting you guys down, despite how much time and effort I'm putting into Fever Meme 2. Sequels for games like this are always hard to make without being cash grabs. It's a lot to live up to the first game's hype, but I hope you guys still enjoy it.
I'm getting so much done on Fever Meme 2 these last 24 hours and it honestly feels great to be productive. You guys will NOT be prepared for what's in store. I don't even think I'll be prepared because I've never made anything like this before...
If you want to be a good game developer, DON'T do this: https://t.co/UOLVhNrX0Y
You shouldn't be trying to nerf skill expression or creativity in a competitive game.
I have plans to include random people in Fever Meme 2. If you're interested, all you have to do is stay tuned. I'll be posting details when it's time to add people in. And DW, your chances of getting into the game are pretty good since I'll be adding a LOT of people into it.
@CompadeG@lizaroo_ What are we talking about here? Are you really trying to make a case for a demilitarized America? Do you have any idea what far-reaching implications that would have with nobody else capable of keeping bad actors like Russia or North Korea at bay?
@DekuGGs Were you ever a fan of DOTA or League? Or ever into speedrunning? You get a different type of dopamine from efficient movement and being optimal/clean in decisions/rotations.
In the 90's at the peak of Doom and Quake, there were widespread smear campaigns saying FPS games turned people into psychopathic killers. When that stigma went away the next that replaced it was that all gamers were basement dwelling losers with no future. Then teams like @Complexity and 3D from the original Counter-Strike (1.6) community, gave people their first ACTUAL salaries to play in America. But even then, the salaries were just enough to get by. Around this time there was a 2008 documentary called Frag that came out that went into the detail of how orgs treated players. One of the orgs even left a player stranded in Africa in the middle of a tournament and pulled out of the event entirely, because they thought their player would lose and they didn't want to pay for his flight back home (he ended up winning btw). It was the wild west back then. Fast forward to when https://t.co/5rKJ2nFMyU (Twitch) came out and then suddenly you could make a living off of games even if you weren't the absolute top 1%. Now gaming is just completely normalized. And of course now you even get scholarships off of competing with collegiate teams now. Virtually everyone plays SOMETHING these days, and the prospect of turning that hobby into a legitimate career is no longer a fever dream.
Little did I know at the time my humble little indie game would sell over 140,000 copies just months later. And because of this I took a trip recently out of Florida for the first time in my life. And in just 10 days I have had my eyes opened up to just how much of the world I've been missing. Now I'm back home and making Fever Meme 2 (among other things). I truly am so grateful for the fact my hard work finally paid off.
Fever Meme broke over 100 sales yesterday. Thank you guys for the support. <3 If you think you know ANYBODY who likes funny fourth-wall-breaking games, definitely toss it their way. :)
Just got back home in Florida. Had a pretty amazing trip to Alexandria, VA. Looking forward to Germany as soon as I get my passport. Anyone have any advice on getting over the whole fear of planes/flying? In the meantime gonna be working hard on figuring out what my next game is.
