Teachers' impact on non-cognitive or social-emotional skills—like self-restraint and motivation—is more predictive of students' long-term success than their impact on test scores, a study says. https://t.co/ZmwkQRBLWl
Moment of vulnerability:
Teaching is hard.
Being a first-year teacher is hard.
Asking for and receiving help is
really difficult for me.
Teacher exhaustion is real is it’s been hitting pretty hard lately.
Teachers should bring back kids having to write “lines” if they get into trouble. But, make the writing meaningful.
Before: “I will not talk in class.”
Now: “It’s disrespectful to my peers & my teacher to interrupt our learning. I can choose a better time to use my voice.”
Send in your box tops every week to each grade level, they will be tallied and the team with the most box tops at the end of the next 9 weeks will win 30 min of extra recess time and the title of MITCHELL MARVELS! The winning team will be posted in the front office display case.
Tomorrow is Mitchel Field Day! Parents and Visitors just a reminder, YOU MUST HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK CLEARED BEFORE you can come tomorrow. This includes lunches!!!!!
Do you ever find yourself overreacting when your students are acting up? Sometimes all you need to do is take a step back and regain your perspective. Remember: It’s not about you—don’t take your students’ misbehavior personally! #edchat
