@HMRCcustomers How do I contact HMRC about incorrect self assessment penalty if phone line closed? Been charged £100 for not submitting tax return but not self employed & have no return to submit. Tried appealing &received letter saying I can't appeal until I submit tax return!

@scottish_water Right. Can you suggest a private company for us here in Uist? And at whose expense when scottish water were supposed to empty it in April? Had they done so we wouldn't be in this position.

These islands have lots of opportunities but ownership of second homes are placing a stranglehold on the community and development and we can’t move forward if people cannot get housing.

Currently there are around 175 houses in #Barra and #Vatersay that are empty for more than 7 months a year - not including the 60 which are holiday lets. Can you imagine how much more vibrant the community would be with a fraction of these houses …
