Building strong relationships with students fosters trust and creates a safe space for learning. When we connect with students on a personal level, they feel supported, respected, and ready to take on challenges. Let's keep building those connections! #StudentSuccess#teacherlife
Let’s make this year amazing by being consistent. Let’s create environments where our students feel safe, valued, and inspired. And let’s support each other every step of the way.
Here’s to a year of consistent growth, joy, and success! 🌟#Education#TeacherLife#Consistency
Just wrapped up an incredible experience at Space Camp with my incredible #NTOY24 friends! 🚀 From simulating space missions to exploring the wonders of the universe, every moment was out of this world. Thank you @SpaceCampUSA and @CCSSO!🌍✨ #InspireLearning#teacherlife
Lessons I learned as a teacher who attended space camp 🚀🛰️❤️
1. Teachers: we will teach, inspire, and motivate future NASA technical writers, engineers, scientists, and pilots. That is the influence we have and NASA needs us.
2. One theme came through as I heard stories from astronauts, docents, and space educators. Making mistakes, not getting accepted the first time, failure and ideas not working out are an important part of learning. It is picking ourselves back up and trying again that makes the difference. The same is true in teaching.
3. Space mission teams can be a lot like educator teams. Collaboration, communication, roles where people feel valued, and trust can make all the difference in a successful mission.
4. Being a leader, the first of something—person in space, person on the moon, person to invent this or that in space—reminds me of being the first in a teacher leadership role. First to mentor a new teacher, first to be a teacher leading professional development, first to advocate at the Hill, first to be an ambassador for something in education you are passionate about in your building, district, or state, first to start a community outreach program— experts leading experts has the most impact and we need to support, compensate, and encourage teachers who will #leadfromtheclassroom
