@AdrianDittmann This Scoble dude is annoying af.
Talks over everybody and does not add any kind of value.
I thought this space was about the topic described.
Huge disappointment Adrian. The audience didn’t come to listen to a narcissist talking about Las Vegas. Bye 👋
Here's an MS Word feature that nobody is talking about and that just blew my mind.
Open an blank document in MS Word and click on the "Dicatate" button. Select "Transcribe."
Next upload an audio file you want to transcribe.
I uploaded recording of one my webinars. It's 3 hours and 17 minutes long.
And MS Word will transcribe the whole thing for you in a few minutes.
Once it's done transcribing, Word gives you four options: Just text, With speakers, With timestamps, With speakers and timestamps.
Choose the one according to your preference and you will have the whole transcript.
@CODUpdates DMZ mode.
Since 1 week, my insured weapon slots cannot be filled with weapons, that have a 15 min. cooldown time.
I bought a skin pack, Dark Rituals 3, exactly for that reason.
This is extremely annoying, taken the fact, that I paid €20 for the skin pack.
How to fix the issue?
Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell were only worth $4.4 million when elected to Congress. Today, they are worth a combined $360 million.
So, with an annual salary of only $193k, how did they increase their net worth by a staggering 8081.82%?
They abused their authority as the most influential members of Congress to solicit insider information and negotiate backroom deals, outperforming the stock market and top hedge funds.
Nearly 100% of Americans age 80 or higher are retired, yet Pelosi and McConnell, who are both over 80, continue to hold some of the most powerful positions in the world.
Corrupt career politicians like this can be eliminated by enforcing term limits for members of Congress. When is enough enough?
The basic ways the government steals your money:
-if you earn it, income tax
-if you live somewhere, property tax
-if you spend it, sales tax
-if you save it, inflation tax
-if you invest it, capital gains tax
-if you start a business, licenses
-if you own a good business, profit tax
-if you give it away, gift tax
-if you die, inheritance tax
THE TAO OF NEWSLETTERS:
How to go from zero to 100k and beyond.
1): Start a newsletter in a high-value niche
Starting a newsletter in a low-value niche is like swimming against the current.
Here's three ways to find a high-value niche:
1. Find big trade shows. Big shows = big marketing budgets.
2. Look up old trade magazines. A lot of advertisers = good signal.
3. Look up your country's GDP and find the biggest industries with the fattest margins.
2): Write high quality content
- Learn to write good copy
- Provide real-world value
- Remember Wii(dot)fm (what's in it for me)
- Sometimes short content is more valuable than long content
- Subscribe to newsletters you find interesting, and study them
3): Get your first 1,000 subscribers
- Get friends to subscribe
- Promote it on Reddit
- Join private communities on Slack and Discord and shout out your newsletter
4): Start collecting data
Make sure you know your readers:
- Job position
- Age
- Location
- Income level
- etc.
Beehiiv is amazing for this: Set up an automated flow so that everyone that subscribes gets a survey.
5): Monetize your newsletter
If you know your readers data, you'll be infinitely better equipped to monetize that data.
Sell sponsorships, info-products etc.
Test products on a small batch of your audience:
I once wanted to test if my audience would pay for the exact same newsletter they were getting for free. I wrote a sales page and sent it to 500 subs: I got 10 buyers - I now knew that 2% of my audience would pay for it. Then I went on to send that sales page to the remaining 9,500 subs and got ~200 paying subscribers.
6): Grow your newsletter with ads
Once you know that for every 1,000 subscribers you get, you make X amount of dollars - then you're ready to start growing your newsletter with paid ads.
Let's say you run a newsletter for conversion rate optimization.
And you know that on average, 2% of your subscribers convert to a $147 info-product - that's $2,940 for every 1,000 subscribers you get.
If you're paying $2/sub, the numbers make sense to spend money on paid ads.
Four habits that'll grow your Twitter account faster:
• Chose 3 topics to tweet about
• Tweet 3x per day about these topics
• Write 2 detailed threads per week
• 100 comments per day on big accounts
Follow these and you'll hit 1000 followers in no time.
Self-control Megapost
In the modern world without self-control, you are bound to experience:
-addiction
-escapism
-overeating
-depression
-unhealthy habits
They are all just symptoms of the same underlying issues like:
-loneliness
-aimlessness
-unfulfillment
-lack of direction
-unsatisfying routine
-lack of achievement, and growth
In this post, I will give you tools you can use to improve your self-control.
1. Understanding Self-Control
The war between your present and future self.
I like the war analogy because war consists of hundreds of battles and thousand of Skirmishes. It’s never decided in one epic battle. It takes months or even years to resolve the conflict.
I want to give you winning tactics to help you in your own war with your weaknesses.
If your problem is just short videos, pornography, or overeating, why should you even listen to recovered alcohol and heroin addict?
I didn’t just regain my self-control, I became very good at it. I know it’s a transferable skill you can learn.
An interesting study was made on people in long-term recovery.
The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is the part of the brain responsible for decision-making and self-control.
The brain scans of recovering addicts show grey matter volume in PFC continues to increase over months of sobriety. Going even above the baseline level of people who've never been addicted.
This means people in recovery are better at making decisions and controlling their impulses.
What does it mean for you?
Imagine that your PFC is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it will become.
This means that you can become better at making decisions and controlling your impulses, just like you can become stronger by working out.
You can increase the grey matter volume of your own PFC. How cool is that?
2. But My Willpower is Limited, right?
The concept of limited willpower is rooted in glucose consumption during demanding tasks. The brain is 2% of our body mass, yet it consumes 20% of the glucose supply. But the resources consumption and depleting willpower are not linear.
For years I’ve been hearing about the ego-depletion model presented by Baumeister. I never really believed it. I could clearly see some people seem to have an iron will.
I quit my addictions and build an elite physique because I refused to believe that willpower is a finite resource.
3. Losing Tactics
Most people's go-to methods for self-control are:
•thoughts suppression
•resisting temptations
The first one will make suppressed thoughts rebound stronger and the second will cost you effort. The point is to make it effortless. Both those tactics have a low long-term success rate.
4. What is Motivation?
Most people believe motivation is some fleeting feeling that they need to feel to complete the task ahead of them. But it goes deeper.
Motivation is an underlying reason you are doing something day in and day out.
You have to ask yourself WHY. You have to ask often and have a clear answer.
My WHY was to stop drinking and change my life. Why? So I could build the body I wanted. Why? So I can be strong. Why? Maybe I will stop hating myself. Why? So I don’t kill myself.
I had many other reasons to quit but I focused on this one. This WHY was strong enough to put me through months of dopamine deprivation without complaining.
There are I-want-to goals and I-have-to goals. The former is easier to stick to than the latter.
I know plenty of men who went to the army to gain discipline. Only to become lazy slobs when they left.
Genuine Desire and internal satisfaction will always beat external pressure.
I for one despise externally imposed discipline.
If you make me, I will build your sand castles, but as soon as you leave I will destroy them with a smile on my face. If you’re anything like me read on.
5. The concept of construal.
Construal is how we interpret and understand our experiences. It is the process of assigning meaning to our thoughts, feelings, and actions.
-High-level construal is your higher self focused on your long-term vision, plans, and congruence with your core values.
-Low-level construal is your lesser self. Concerned only with quick and simple decisions based on our short-term needs.
What does it mean in practice?
I want to order a pizza and drink a few beers after work. It’s Friday. I deserve it, it was a stressful week.
There will be a conflict between my higher and lesser self. Me in the future is jacked, tanned, and juicy. He doesn't want to live like millions of normies.
If I’m able to make a connection with him. He will tell me to go for a walk by the sea and do some pull-ups.
The decision is mine, and it’s not always easy. In both cases, I will be rewarded with dopamine.
The quality of my feelings is the only difference.
If I break and satisfy the desires of my lesser self I will feel regret.
Regret is not a choice. I will feel it.
If I listen to my conscious on the other hand I will feel pride and satisfaction from making progress.
To operate from the high level you need a high level of connectedness with your future self.
With your attention outsourced it’s not easy to connect with your dream future self. Many ideas are imposed from the outside. Your Ad algorithm tells you what are your dreams and desires.
Do you really want it or your Instagram reel told you to want it?
6. Connecting with your future self.
There are a few ways of reinforcing the link between your current and future self. They are quite simple but very effective.
-Writing
Your thoughts are like the river and they will be gone with the flow eventually. Writing down what you want to achieve will help you to think from the high construal level and think about how the next decision will affect your desired future self.
-Visualisation
In the morning when you get up it’s not easy to be smiling and positive at least for me. I often wake up negative.
Create a 20-second clip. The clip with your desired future. Play in your head.
I’m not saying this will always make you rosy but it’s better than thinking about negative scenarios.
Many famous people and high-performing athletes use this technique so don’t discard it as some nonsense.
-Practice self-discovery
I didn’t know what I want to do so I tried many things. Trading, coding among others.
I knew I want a chiseled physique. I felt it many times when I was alone. My goal was visceral, and I knew I want it.
Try new things until you’ll find yours.
7. Creating space between thoughts and actions
Battling addiction or just seeking personal growth means having self-control over your impulses. It’s not stuffing them down but recognizing them and embracing them.
There’s a chance you tried meditation before and gave up. Most people can’t stick to it because their methods suck.
I recommend you download the Waking Up app. Its 50 lessons Introductory course is the best intro to meditation I have seen out there. It emphasizes how its not just 10 minutes of your day to sit through. It has to spill out to the rest of your day.
I noticed my reaction window extended with each week of practice. It was a slow process but it was a noticeable change.
Just like training muscles, you put in effort you get results.
8. Shape identity through actions.
The last tool I used the most was affirmations.
It doesn’t have to be anything over the top or something you don’t believe.
Setting an alarm 5 times a day and repeating a few sentences that are true can work wonders. It’s so effective that it is used in the treatment of Complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
Don’t discard it.
Make sure it’s something you believe. Most people say shit like: I’m rich and I’m successful when they are broke.
Instead, say: Every day I’m building my wealth and improving my health. Every day I’m doing something to move the needle and improve my life.
Here’s the condition. You actually have to do something to improve.
Stay congruent with your conscience. This is a powerful tool to program your subconscious mind.
Some days you won’t feel it and you just mutter these words under your nose. But some days when you did a lot and are vibing high you will want to scream those words out loud.
This is where the magic happens. This is how self-control becomes a part of your identity.
In the beginning, you go uphill. You have to rely on discipline and gamifying the process. But once you make this identity upgrade. Your motivation changes from external to internal.
There are many other scientific ways to enhance your self-control. I only described the one I used and know to be working.
Take care.

Yasushi "Yassan" Takahashi meticulously planned a route spanning Japan to spell out "Marry Me." After leaving his job, he embarked on a six-month journey from Hokkaido to Kagoshima, covering 7,163 km (4,450 miles) to realize his grand proposal. He unveiled his accomplished trip using Google Earth to Natsuki, creating one of the most intricately orchestrated proposals ever. Yassan's remarkable achievement secured him the Guinness World Record for the largest GPS drawing. As for Natsuki's response, she happily said, "Yes."

🇮🇱 Israel was the most vaccinated
🇨🇦 Canada had the most draconian Covid passports
