@ChildrensComm Even with a perfect education system children will not achieve this. They are human, they get poorly. We need to stop this awful narrative and focus on an inclusive system where young people develop a love of learning and the right behaviours.
@JohnnySRich@officestudents@JohnnySRich It sadly says that strategically widening participation/access will become less of a priority. It says we have too many skills gaps in non grad sectors that underrepresented groups should stick to. But I am happy to be proven wrong.
@Tesco@YOSushi
Shocked to discover my vegan product contained 88% chicken. Please check labelling at Tesco’s middlebrook urgently. Very disappointed. #vegan#vegetarian#tescos
@SkyNews looking forward to Nick’s report on children’s mental health later. Please explore the impact of current self isolation rules on young people’s wellbeing. As an adult you a negative covid test allows you to do all sorts. But a negative test won’t allow you into school.
@ofsted@educationgovuk@ChildrensComm@LancashireCC why can you go on holiday, watch sport or go to a nightclub with a negative covid test but you can’t go to school? Young people losing out in so many ways. Mental health support not in place. Time for change.
@educationgovuk If there is a broad consensus that exams are the best way forward then present evidence of this. Let us see the consultation process and data. Your bloody mindedness will destroy some young people. But of course these are not the kind of young people you are concerned with.
@educationgovuk@NickGibbUK@HouseofCommons Please publish the evidence behind your statement, so that parents, students and the education sector can see what has informed this decision. Let us see the risks associated with exams versus the risk of alternatives. My daughter is begging for answers, and I don’t have them.
@tes@amanda_spielman So are we going to pretend that exams are going ahead? in a sad attempt to keep kids in school. This is a perfect opportunity to throw out the rule book and do something different. Unengaged kids are not inspired by exams. Engaged kids will still work hard if the system changes.
@GavinWilliamson@educationgovuk Really not understanding how the average kid is supposed to catch up. Teachers off, kids isolating, freezing cold classrooms, no sign of tutoring. All I see is depressed and anxious kids. Let’s prioritise well-being and a love of learning. Please.
@LancashireCC Director of Public Health in Lancashire says 'no evidence of impact on educational outcomes' from lockdown. So no return for year 10s. Guess we are worrying over nothing 😂 @suttontrust@ChildrensComm
@LancashireCC Director of public health says ‘no evidence of impact on educational outcomes.’ What utter rubbish. Lancashire children being denied an education.
@LindsayHoyle_MP Lees Road in Anderton is in dire condition, drivers on the wrong side of the road due to the high number of holes. Not on the list. Needs urgent attention...
