Greek and Roman architecture are closely connected, but they were built around different ideas.

Greek architecture emphasized proportion, exterior harmony, and the post-and-lintel system, seen clearly in temples with Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian columns.

Roman architecture adopted many Greek forms, but pushed them further with concrete, arches, vaults, and domes — creating larger interiors, amphitheatres, baths, basilicas, aqueducts, and monumental public spaces.
