↗️2014: Flees Uganda amid treason charges.

⚠️November 2014: Arrested in eastern DR Congo over allegations of illegal entry and links to rebel groups.

🔒2014–2022: Detained for 8 years, spending much of that time in Ndolo Military Prison in Kinshasa.

🔑21 October 2022: Released after completing his sentence.

↗️✍🏾2022–2025: Lives in exile, unable to immediately return to Uganda. During this period, compiles poetry written secretly while in prison.

🔙 Mid-2025: Returns to Uganda to resume political activities and prepare to contest for Rukungiri Municipality MP.

👮🏾‍♀️26 August 2025: Reportedly picked up by security personnel at a hotel in Mbarara; his whereabouts become unknown.

⚖️27 August 2025: Lawyers file legal action, demanding authorities produce him.

⚖️5 September 2025: High Court issues a writ of habeas corpus, ordering the government to produce him in court.

📽️ 31st July 2026: A video of Sam Mugumya visibly weak surfaces on the internet.

Vinicius Jr earns €680k/£575k per week. The magnitude of this deal is gargantuan, even with just a year on his contract. There aren't many clubs who can afford this & there are less who can (legally) pull it off.

Arsenal, much like Manchester United, are yet to prove they can get something this big done. A player & a superstar like this completely changes your dressing room dynamics, wage structure & tactical system.

It doesn't mean there's no excuse not to try, though.
