Back in the early 90s Dunkin Donuts had locations in Canada, the coffee was drinkable and food edible, not anymore (at least the few times I've tried it in the states).

Anyone who broadly says "debt is bad" shouldn't talk about investing, or money in general.
Literally every successful company/investor in the world takes on debt to make money.
Typically, the interest rate on debt or margin is lower than then return on investment from said debt.

The Liberals at the time also voted against it. Carney wasn't associated with Liberal party at the time of the vote.
