While this is also partly Zoomer/Millenial entitlement, a lot of it is deserved.
My mother regularly yells at me, an adult, for not pursuing the career paths she wanted for me, for being a difficult child, or for not being as successful as her friends' children. She also thinks that me being jobless for six months is because I am not good enough, and not because the job market is the worst it's been in decades.
And whenever I tell my father, brother or grandmother that her constant emotional and mental abuse is not doing me any favors, their response is "She's your mother, she has the right to tell you anything."
That is not a parent-child relationship, that is a master-slave relationship. A lot of parents genuinely think of their children as their property, and treat them as such. So, naturally, when the child is all grown up and has the power to cut them off, they will.
@TheJadedOne2021 Kind if hard to focus on dating in your 20s and 30s if your focused on your career. And many ppl around my age (26) HAVE to be focused on their career in order to survive this terrible economy. Dating is not going to pay the bills.
