AIRoA is planning an "Open Lab" for prospective applicants at our Heiwajima office (Tokyo, Japan) on Thursday, June 25th, starting around 7:00 pm.

At AIRoA, through industry-academia collaboration, we have collected 80,000 hours of mobile manipulation data (one of the world's largest datasets) and conducted large-scale training and validation of VLAs.
Approximately 5,000 hours of this data are scheduled for public release in the near future. Additionally, a dataset for semi-humanoids is also planned for release.

On the second Business Day of SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, the panel discussion “Where Can Japan Create Unique Value in Physical AI?” (Powered by AIRoA) was held.
Representing AIRoA, Chairperson Tetsuya Ogata joined the panel, and AIRoA staff member Alisa Yamamoto served as moderator.
As capital-intensive competition accelerates, the discussion explored how Japan can connect its strengths in robotics, manufacturing, and real-world data—and develop them into a common foundation for Physical AI.
From Tokyo to the world, the panel highlighted the potential of Physical AI emerging from Japan.

AIRoA has announced the participants for our Domestic General-Purpose Robot Development Competition, conducted as part of a NEDO-commissioned project.
The competition supports the development of practical dual-arm mobile manipulators in Japan and the broader effort around robotics foundation models.
