This photograph was posted proudly. Here is everything they hoped you would never know about the man in it, what his family did to this country, who his money funds, and why your Foreign Secretary standing next to him is one of the most dangerous things a British minister has ever done in public.
Today. 25 September 2026. New York. United Nations week. While you were working, paying your bills, sitting in traffic, watching the news about yet another boat arriving on our shores, our Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband was smiling for a photograph with Alexander Soros and posting it online with the caption "inspired by his energy, ambition and determination to get things done."
We are going to tell you exactly who Alexander Soros is, what his family has done to this country, what his money funds right now, and why this photograph is one of the most revealing and disgusting things a British government minister has ever done in public.
Stay with us. Because this is the whole picture, and it is worse than you think.
THE FAMILY THAT ALREADY BROKE BRITAIN ONCE
You cannot understand Alexander Soros without starting with his father, because the son is simply a continuation of what the father began. And what the father did to this country was unforgivable.
On 16 September 1992, Black Wednesday, George Soros bet ten billion dollars against the British pound. He single-handedly forced the Bank of England to its knees. He made one billion pounds profit in a single day. One man. One trade. One billion pounds taken directly from British families while ordinary people watched their mortgage rates explode overnight, their businesses collapse, and their government humiliated on the front pages of every newspaper in the world. Interest rates hit 15% in a single day. We did not do that to ourselves. He did it to us deliberately, cold-bloodedly, for personal profit.
That is the family we are talking about. That is the blood money that built this empire. And now the son controls it.
WHO IS ALEXANDER SOROS
Alexander George Soros. Born 27 October 1985. Raised in a 14-room estate in Katonah, New York. Schooled at elite Connecticut prep schools. NYU degree. PhD from Berkeley in 2018. Lives in Manhattan. Married this year to Huma Abedin, the Clinton insider whose previous husband Anthony Weiner, a United States congressman, was jailed for sending sexually explicit messages to a minor. That is his inner circle. That is the world he lives in.
He now controls $25 billion. He chairs the Open Society Foundations, the largest private political funding operation on earth. He runs Democracy PAC and Democracy PAC II, the super political action committees that pumped $125 million into the American Democratic Party in a single election cycle. He visited the Biden White House 25 times in three years. Not 25 times over a lifetime. 25 times in three years. More often than most elected congressmen. He met with national security officials, foreign policy advisers, Senate leadership. He had more informal access to American executive power than the ambassadors of most allied nations.
He holds no elected office. He represents no one. He answers to no one.
He told the Wall Street Journal when he inherited control of his father's empire: "I am more political than my father."
More political. His father broke the Bank of England and made a billion pounds doing it. His father spent decades buying influence across Western democracies. His father was convicted of insider trading in France and lost the appeal at the European Court of Human Rights. And the son wants to be more political than that.
WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE TO OUR COUNTRY
This is not a foreign story. This is our story.
When 17.4 million of us voted for Brexit in 2016, we made the largest democratic decision in the history of this country. We voted clearly. We voted freely. We voted to take our country back from a system that did not serve us.
The Soros network decided our vote was wrong.
Open Society Foundations, the organisation that Alexander Soros now chairs, funnelled £3,021,689 into anti-Brexit campaigns. They gave £1,213,689 to Best for Britain in 2019 alone. £1,087,000 in 2018. £400,000 in 2017. They gave money to the European Movement. They gave money to Scientists for EU.
How did they get around our laws banning foreign donations to UK political campaigns? By routing the money through their London office. Open Society Foundation London. A company registered at Companies House. A company of which Alexander Soros is a listed UK director, verified by the British government as recently as 31 May 2026.
They used a legal loophole in our own system to inject foreign billionaire money into a campaign to destroy the biggest democratic vote our country has ever held. Best for Britain was investigated by the Electoral Commission. Irregularities were confirmed. The money kept flowing anyway.
And they did not even hide it. Open Society Foundations published a press release confirming every penny. They were that confident nothing would happen to them. They were right.
THE SOROS MACHINE FUNDS THE OPEN BORDERS LOBBY
Now we come to the part that should make every single person in this country who has watched those boats arrive day after day absolutely furious.
Open Society Foundations openly declares on its own website that it is "the largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, equity, and human rights." One of its primary and stated funding priorities is migration and asylum. Its own website says it supports "groups that work on a broad range of issues affecting the safety and well-being of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers." In 2016, George Soros pledged $500 million specifically to migrant and refugee investment programmes.
These are not neutral charities helping people in genuine need. These are political advocacy organisations that lobby governments to keep borders open, campaign against deportations, fight every attempt to control who enters our country, and tie the hands of every government that tries to enforce immigration law.
In Italy, prosecutors investigated NGOs funded by Soros foundations for operating ships that picked up migrants close to the Libyan coast and transported them to Europe. The Italian Parliament raised formal questions about it. Multiple Soros-funded NGOs were named. Italian authorities seized vessels. The prosecutor in Catania asked publicly whether private organisations were being allowed to "replace political forces and the will of nations."
The European Parliament formally asked the European Commission about the Ayatollah regime's collaboration with Open Society Foundation. The Commission confirmed it. That is not a conspiracy theory. That is on the official record of the European Parliament.
Then there is this. In 2017, Iran's own Foreign Minister Mohammad Zarif openly admitted that his government had "worked closely" with Open Society Foundations. Worked closely with the Soros network. That is not an allegation from a hostile source. That is Iran saying it themselves.
THE IRGC IS USING OUR OPEN BORDER TO SEND KILLERS INTO BRITAIN AND SOROS FUNDS THE PEOPLE LOBBYING TO KEEP THAT BORDER OPEN
In July 2026, two months ago, The Daily Telegraph revealed in a bombshell investigation that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, the military intelligence arm of the Iranian theocracy, has been using Channel crossing smuggling networks to move covert operatives into the United Kingdom.
The specific unit responsible is IRGC Unit 700, the logistics and smuggling arm of the Quds Force, Iran's elite covert foreign operations division. Unit 700 does not just occasionally use these routes. According to The Telegraph's sources including Iranian officials, people smugglers, and security analysts, Unit 700 effectively controls several trafficking routes stretching from the Middle East to the English Channel.
Suspected Iranian operatives intercepted in small boats are thought to have links to the Ministry of Intelligence and Security. Revolutionary Guard agents have been positioned in London through these networks. An Iranian source told The Telegraph directly: "We can make London unsafe."
LBC confirmed it. GB News confirmed it. Iran International confirmed it. The New English Review confirmed it. Every credible outlet that looked at the intelligence confirmed it.
The IRGC runs the Channel. The same Channel that has delivered hundreds of thousands of arrivals to our shores over the past several years. The same Channel that this government and every government before it has failed to close.
And now join the dots that they hope you never join.
The Soros network funds the open borders lobby. The open borders lobby campaigns to keep our borders exactly as they are: uncontrolled, unmonitored, effectively open. The IRGC exploits those open borders to run smuggling networks and move agents into Britain. Iran's own Foreign Minister has admitted working closely with the Soros network. OSF funded organisations are described by Italian prosecutors as facilitating migrant crossings across the Mediterranean. And Alex Soros has $46.7 million of his family's money flowing through the International Crisis Group, an organisation that has faced formal congressional scrutiny over its Iran-sympathetic positions.
We are not saying Alex Soros personally phones IRGC commanders. We are saying that the machine he runs, the money he directs, the open borders ideology he funds, and the Iran relationships his organisation has openly admitted to, all combine to create a situation where Iran's intelligence service is walking agents into this country through the exact same open door that Alexander Soros's political machine has spent millions lobbying to keep open.
If that is a coincidence, it is the most expensive and dangerous coincidence in our country's history.
THE DOJ IS TRYING TO PROSECUTE HIM AND OUR FOREIGN SECRETARY CALLS HIM INSPIRING
As of September 2025, the United States Department of Justice directed more than six US Attorney's offices to submit formal plans to investigate Open Society Foundations. The charge under consideration is RICO. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations. The law they use for organised crime.
Capital Research Center's investigators found that OSF under Alexander Soros's leadership directed more than $80 million to organisations the FBI connects to domestic extremism. Grantees include groups that trained activists in property destruction during the 2020 riots that left American cities burning. Groups with members facing over 40 domestic terrorism charges. Groups with connections to violent far-left movements.
President Trump said publicly: "We're going to look into Soros because I think it's a RICO case." Attorney General Pam Bondi said everything is on the table.
And right now, today, while that investigation is active, while those accusations sit in the public domain, while British intelligence is watching IRGC agents arrive on our beaches through an open border kept open by the very ideology Soros funds, our Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband stood in New York in his official capacity as Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, shook Alexander Soros's hand, and told the world he found him inspiring.
LET US TALK ABOUT ED MILIBAND
Because he does not get to hide behind his title today.
This is the man who, in 2010, stabbed his own brother David in the back to seize the Labour leadership. David Miliband, widely regarded as the more able of the two, was destroyed politically by his own younger brother's ambition. He never returned to British frontline politics. Their mother was reportedly devastated. As Louise Mensch, no friend of ours but someone who said it clearly in the replies to Miliband's own tweet today, put it: "You were about as kind as Cain was to Abel." A man who knifes his own blood for personal advancement will do the same to a country without losing a moment's sleep.
The Telegraph has called Miliband "even more dangerous as Foreign Secretary" than in any other role. The Spectator called his appointment "genuinely sickening" and "the most nauseating appointment of my lifetime." Multiple serious commentators across the political spectrum have confirmed in print that Miliband serves his own ideological conscience rather than Britain's interests. He has apologised to Palestinians on behalf of cabinets he was not even in charge of. He has courted Qatar while condemning allies. He ran an energy policy as Energy Secretary that blocked North Sea development and drove up bills for every family in this country. And now he is Foreign Secretary.
The Telegraph reported in September 2026, just this month, that Miliband is "serving his own conscience, not Britain's interests." That was written before today's photograph.
What he did today is worse than serving his own conscience. He served Alexander Soros's interests. He handed a man under federal investigation a diplomatic shield. He gave Soros access to the Burnham government at the highest level. He signalled to every government in Europe that Britain's Foreign Office is open to unelected billionaires with political agendas. He handed the Trump administration a photograph they can and will use to justify every suspicion that Britain is playing politics against them at the exact moment we need American goodwill for trade, security, and intelligence cooperation.
And he put it on the internet himself. Proudly. As if we would not notice.
THE FULL PICTURE
Let us put it together plainly because it needs to be said plainly.
George Soros made a billion pounds deliberately collapsing the British pound in 1992. His son now controls the machine his father built and has declared he wants to be more political than his father. That machine funnelled over £3 million through a UK company to overturn our Brexit vote in breach of the spirit of our foreign donations law. It funds open borders lobbying across Europe and America. It funds migrant advocacy groups on both sides of the Channel. Italy's prosecutors investigated Soros-funded NGOs for facilitating illegal crossings. Iran's own Foreign Minister admitted his government worked closely with the Soros network. The IRGC's Unit 700 controls Channel smuggling routes and has been moving covert operatives into Britain through those same routes. The US Department of Justice is pursuing RICO charges. $80 million went to extremism-linked groups. Alexander Soros visited the Biden White House 25 times in three years.
And today, our Foreign Secretary, a man who knifed his own brother to get where he is, who The Telegraph and The Spectator and multiple credible outlets have described as dangerous, self-serving, and unfit, stood in New York and told Alexander Soros he finds him inspiring, and posted the proof online.
This is not politics anymore. This is betrayal. This is the Foreign Secretary of our country publicly embracing a man whose machine has interfered in our elections, whose ideology keeps the Channel open, whose network Iran's own government has admitted working closely with, and who is currently being pursued by a federal RICO investigation in the United States.
We built this country. We work in this country. We bled for this country. Our grandfathers died for this country. We vote in this country.
And this Labour government is handing it over, one photograph at a time, to people who have never stood for election in our country and never will.

In 24 hours, House of the People has become one of the biggest platforms for democracy in the UK.
11k followers on here. Over 5,000 votes recorded on real legislation.
We've been building this for just under a year. The response in the last day tells us people have been waiting for something like this.
We're still building. The platform is being improved every day, the app launches later this month. If you have any problems or ideas we want to hear them.
To every one of you who has signed up, thank you. For the first time, public opinion on legislation isn't a guess, it's data, and that's because of every one of you.
It's 6am so I'm going to bed. Thank you all so much.
Let’s get one thing straight before they gaslight you into swallowing this. This is NOT just about “age verification” so kids can’t scroll TikTok.
The under-16s social media ban, and the under-18s VPN ban, is digital verification for everyone; because the only way to enforce it is to make every single person prove their age, prove their identity, and “check in” with the State before accessing the modern internet.
And yes… you already know where it leads.
OneLogin.
A centralised identity system designed to collect your credentials and your biometrics (face, iris, fingerprint) and bind them to a single government account.
This ban is not the end goal.
It is one verification type.
One tiny draconian token.
One single piece of the Digital ID puzzle.
And the equation remains the same:
OneLogin + GOV Wallet = Digital ID.
Age verification will become one token on that wallet, but first, before the wallet is fully normalised, before it’s “rolled out” to every citizen through exclusion and coercion, they’ll do what they always do:
They’ll introduce the gate first.
To access a VPN, a social media site, or even an AI tool, you will be forced to “prove” you are over 16 or 18 — and the proof won’t be a private check, or a local device setting, or a parental control.
It will be a government check.
A government login.
A government permission slip.
You will have to “check in” with GOV OneLogin to access the internet like a normal person — and soon enough a token for this will be issued into the GOV Wallet, just like the proposed BritCard token that has now allegedly been “scrapped.”
This is the same system, the same architecture, the same rollout pattern... just with a different sticker slapped on the front.
And once the token exists, it becomes the default.
Once it becomes the default, it becomes the requirement.
Once it becomes the requirement, it becomes the leash.
Because what they’re building is not an age gate.
It’s a permission gate.
A surveillance gate.
A system where your ability to access platforms, services, information, communication — your ability to exist online — becomes conditional on your compliance with a credential check that is logged, tracked, and centrally controlled.
They will see what you do.
When you do it.
What you search.
What you access.
What you post.
And people will still be saying, with a straight face:
“Well, it’s a good thing under-16s are being banned from social media… they’ll be safer.”
That’s the bait.
Then you hear Starmer say: “How will parents police this alone?”
And notice what he’s really saying.
He is not empowering parents.
He is positioning the government next to parents, granting the State the same “authority” to parent your child, to decide what is healthy, what is harmful, what is permitted, what is “wellbeing,” and what must be restricted.
The same government that has lied to you for years about safety.
The same government that signs away your rights in the name of protection.
The same government that cannot define a woman, cannot secure a border, cannot arrest a p3dophile (rather employs and promotes them), cannot run a hospital — but somehow wants you to believe it can be trusted to police your child’s mind.
And if you think this is going through “proper process,” think again.
A month ago they announced a consultation on the under-16s ban. That consultation is a red herring.
Because Starmer’s little phrase “Fast Track” is just PR language for something much uglier:
Henry VIII powers.
Powers that allow ministers to change legislation without parliamentary scrutiny, without debate, without any democratic friction.
And that means the actual rules — the ones that govern your data, your access, your verification, your wallet, your permissions — will not be written on the floor of the House.
They will be written by an unelected civil servant in a closed room, and rubber-stamped by a Secretary of State.
The consultation is not democracy. It is the hologram of democracy. Designed to make you feel heard while the law is already coded, the architecture already built, and the enforcement mechanism already chosen.
And it gets worse.
Because this ban is being routed through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill; a bill that will receive Royal Assent before the consultation even ends.
So what exactly are you “consulting” on?
A decision that’s already been made.
A system that’s already being implemented.
A lock that’s already being installed on your front door while they ask you what colour you’d like the handle to be.
Then there’s the Unique Identifier for ALL children.
They will sell it as “tracking attendance.”
But it isn’t an attendance system.
It is a digital tether.
A permanent state identifier for your child, designed to follow them across systems, databases, services, education, healthcare, “wellbeing,” behavioural monitoring, and digital permissions.
And once you combine a Unique Identifier with digital tokens, with “digital wellbeing” regulation, with AI-driven scoring, you have built something monstrous:
A system where a child’s “Wellbeing Score” can drop — determined by government-approved metrics, possibly processed by government AI — and the State can remotely revoke their digital tokens.
Effectively deleting their social existence until they comply.
No access.
No platform.
No digital participation.
No “privileges.”
Just compliance.
And here’s the part people are missing:
They are granting themselves the power to amend the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill without proper parliamentary scrutiny and without waiting for the consultation to end.
They are giving the Secretary of State delegated powers to regulate “digital wellbeing” which is a euphemism so broad you could drive an authoritarian regime through it.
They can amend laws at any time.
They can expand definitions at any time.
They can widen the net at any time.
Meaning the Prime Minister and Secretaries of State become the architects and the judges.
The lawmakers and the enforcers.
And Henry VIII powers are named after a tyrant for a reason. Because they were designed for a monarch who forced Parliament to pass laws and accept personal proclamations.
That is the lineage of the power Starmer is dressing up as “Fast Tracking.”
This isn’t safeguarding.
It’s centralisation.
And it doesn’t stop there.
The other legislation being pulled into this system is the Crime and Policing Bill which is progressing as we speak and the Online Safety Act 2023 — both of which contain mechanisms to expand and amend enforcement without passing fresh primary legislation.
Meaning they can tighten the screws without the public ever noticing.
No new “big scary bill.”
No headline.
No national debate.
Just silent regulatory expansion.
A little more coercion.
A little more surveillance.
A little more permissioning.
Until one day you wake up and the internet — the place you work, learn, communicate, bank, shop, organise, speak, and live — requires you to present a government token just to enter.
And you’ll be told it’s normal.
You’ll be told it’s safety.
You’ll be told it’s “for the children.”
This consultation is a farce.
The law is being passed.
Age verification for all will be forced upon us unless we act now, and unless people stop staring at the headline and start seeing the architecture.
This is not even the start of mission creep.
This is another step.
Another spoke.
Another token.
Another gate.
And yes, there are other ways to improve online safety.
Every person over 16 is issued with a National Insurance number.
There are privacy-preserving options.
There are local-device checks.
There are non-centralised approaches.
But that is not the point.
Because the point is not safety.
The point is control.
This is part of the digital gulag.
The panopticon.
A credentialed society where your ability to participate is conditional, permissioned, and revocable... and where the State holds the master key.
Linked below is another important post about the Digital ID stack that everyone needs to understand...
@HamblettMike@JVinos_Climate Well, it looked like you needed some help with the spelling in your pointless, ad hominem, reply to a perfectly reasonable post.
The Velvet Glove of the Mob: How the Left Whispers Death Threats in Polite Tongues
They don't say "kill him." That would be too crude, too honest for their refined sensibilities.
No, the modern left...those self-anointed priests of compassion...has mastered a subtler sorcery: the veiled incantation. Words wrapped in silk that unravel into nooses.
Phrases that sound like moral diagnosis but function as battle cries for the digital guillotine. "Fascist." "Nazi." "Threat to democracy." "Literal white supremacist."
These aren't descriptions; they're spells. Invoke them, and the mob awakens...hungry, righteous, anonymous.
Listen closely, because this is how empires of the mind fall to the blade without a single overt command. It's mob language refined through centuries of revolutionary bloodletting, now sanitized for the age of likes and retweets.
The Jacobins didn't scream "off with their heads" in every pamphlet; they spoke of "enemies of the people," "counter-revolutionaries," "traitors to virtue."
Robespierre's velvet rhetoric birthed the Terror, where a whispered accusation sent thousands to the scaffold.
The Bolsheviks refined it further: "kulak," "wrecker," "bourgeois parasite"...terms that stripped humanity before the bullet or the gulag did the rest.
Mao's Cultural Revolution? "Rightist." "Capitalist roader." Say the word, and the Red Guards descended like locusts, beating confessions from skulls in the name of purity.
Today, the left has inherited this ancient art, polished it to a lethal sheen, and deployed it with psychological precision that would make Gustave Le Bon cum his fucking trousers.
Le Bon knew mobs don't think; they feel. They deindividuate...lose the self in the swarm...and language is the trigger that dissolves the ego into ecstatic violence.
Call someone a "fascist" not because they goose-step in uniforms, but because it evokes Auschwitz in a heartbeat.
It's emotional pornography: instant rage, zero nuance. The target isn't debated; they're dehumanized. Once the label sticks, anything goes. Doxxing. Death threats. Career annihilation. Physical assault disguised as "punching up." And the beauty...for them...is plausible deniability. "I didn't call for violence; I just correctly identified the threat."
This isn't hyperbole; it's historical pattern recognition.
When the left labels Trump a "threat to our democracy," they're not analyzing policy...they're issuing a fatwa. Remember the rhetoric post-2016? "Resistance" wasn't civic; it was coded for sabotage. Celebrities fantasized about blowing up the White House while blue-checks nodded solemnly. Kathy Griffin with the severed head? Art. Madonna bombing the Capitol? Edgy.
But let a right-winger joke darkly, and it's stochastic terrorism. The hypocrisy is the point: their violence is virtuous, yours is existential evil.
Psychologically, it's projection on steroids...Jung's shadow vomited onto the outgroup. The left, terrified of their own authoritarian impulses externalize it onto opponents. "Fascist" is what they fear becoming: controllers who silence dissent.
But venom drips from their tongues because deep down, they crave the purity purge. It's the psychology of the inquisitor: accuse to absolve. Label the heretic, and your hands stay clean while the mob dirties theirs.
And the mob obliges because anonymity plus righteousness equals sadism unleashed.
This veiled language is the left's most potent weapon because it's deniable, viral, and viciously effective. It turns discourse into ritual sacrifice: name the scapegoat, watch the herd devour.
We've seen where unchecked mob incantations lead.
Wake the fuck up. Recognize the code. When they say "threat to democracy," hear "enemy of the people." When they cry "fascist," understand it's the modern "witch." This isn't dialogue; it's prelude to purge.
The left doesn't need to say "kill"...they've trained the mob to hear it anyway.
And the blade falls silently.
💀⚖️🔪🩸
When power interferes with the timing of a vote, intent is the only thing that matters. Delaying elections to avoid defeat is not governance. It is democratic evasion.
Twenty-two Labour councils are now set to delay local elections. Not randomly. Not evenly. Almost all of them sit in areas where Reform UK is polling strongly and Labour is bleeding support. That alone should end the argument. When electoral suspension tracks political threat, you are no longer managing democracy. You are rationing it.
This is not happening by accident. It is being facilitated by ministers who know exactly what they are doing. Steve Reed, the Communities Secretary, claims councils need "space" to focus on reorganisation. That is a lie by omission. Councils reorganise all the time. They do not cancel elections to do it. They run elections during crises, mergers, austerity, pandemics. Democracy is not a seasonal luxury. It is the job.
What has changed is not capacity. It is competition. Reform UK has broken through in places Labour once treated as owned. Hyndburn. Preston. Blackburn. Northern towns where the Labour vote has thinned and anger has thickened. The response has not been persuasion or reform, but delay. Push the vote back. Stretch four-year mandates into seven. Keep councillors in place long after the public has withdrawn consent. Call it "transition". Hope the mood passes.
That is not democratic stewardship. It is incumbency protection. The defence offered is always procedural. "Reorganisation takes time." "There is precedent." "Councils asked for it." This is bureaucratic camouflage. Precedent does not justify abuse. Complexity does not suspend consent. And councils asking to avoid elections when they are about to lose is not grassroots democracy. It is self-preservation.
The pattern gives the game away. Conservative and Liberal Democrat councils, facing less immediate threat, overwhelmingly reject delay. Labour councils, staring at a Reform surge, suddenly discover the sanctity of postponement. Democracy, it seems, is flexible when it becomes inconvenient.
Nigel Farage called it "banana republic behaviour". The phrase annoys polite commentators, but the instinct is right. This is not tanks in the streets. It is something more British and more dangerous: power quietly insulating itself from voters while insisting nothing has changed.
The deeper rot is philosophical. Labour no longer treats elections as the source of legitimacy, but as a risk to be managed. Voting is acceptable when it confirms the plan. When it threatens it, the plan takes precedence. That is not social democracy. It is managerial authoritarianism with a smile.
Councillors elected in 2021 were chosen for four years. Not seven. No manifesto promised extended terms. No voter consent was sought. The extension is being smuggled through on the assumption that local elections are optional extras rather than binding contracts between citizen and state.
And once you accept that principle – that elections can be paused when outcomes look awkward – you have crossed a line that is hard to uncross. Today it is councils. Tomorrow it is mayors. Then "exceptional circumstances". Then "national necessity". Democracy does not usually die in a coup. It is bled out by administrators who insist they are acting responsibly.
Labour likes to speak the language of rights and norms. But the most basic democratic right is the right to throw people out. Any party that interferes with that right because it fears the result has forfeited its claim to moral authority.
This isn't about Reform or Farage. It isn't even about council structures. It's about who owns elections – the people or the governing class. A confident government faces the verdict. A frightened one postpones it. That's what’s happening here. Everyone knows it.
"Steve Reed, the Communities Secretary, claims councils need "space" to focus on reorganisation. That is a lie by omission."
No, this is a lie and propaganda @Reuters is willingly pushing on behalf of warmongers who want to undermine President Trump’s tireless efforts to end this bloody war that has resulted in more than a million casualties on both sides.
Dangerously, you are promoting this false narrative to block President Trump’s peace effort, and fomenting hysteria and fear among the people to get them to support the escalation of war, which is what NATO and the EU really want in order to pull the United States military directly into war with Russia.
The truth is the US intelligence community has briefed policymakers, including the Democrat HPSCI member quoted by Reuters, that US Intelligence assesses that Russia seeks to avoid a larger war with NATO. It also assesses that, as the last few years have shown, Russia’s battlefield performance indicates it does not currently have the capability to conquer and occupy all of Ukraine, let alone Europe.
@thegiblet1@Sassafrass_84 Great, now do it with cars.
Then do it with hammers.
Then do it with machetes.
Then realise that it's not the tool, it's the human behind it.
@sciencebamf@mattvanswol Cut the suicides and accidents out of the US figure and it drops to 7.
US population is 12 times larger.
I'm sure you can do the maths.
If you just used the illegally held gun numbers for the US, it would drop even further.
Legally held guns really aren't the problem.
@DavidFCavell@MickamiousG Yeah, but the US figure of 12 includes suicides and accidents.
The Aussie figure doesn't.
The US figure is closer to 7.
And the US population is 12 times larger.
If you just use the illegally held gun murders in the US the ratio drops even further.
You're welcome.
@thegiblet1@Sassafrass_84 And yet we have LOTS of legally held firearms here in the UK.
Legally held firearms are not a problem.
I noticed that cars are being driven into gatherings of people, killing many.
Should we be banning cars?
Or is the problem human beings with mental illness, or bad ideologies?
There's a madness gripping Britain, and it speaks in euphemisms. It talks about "inclusion", "respect", "modern terminology". But strip away the soft words and you find something far darker: a regime of linguistic obedience where a man's livelihood now hinges on whether he polices other people's speech. That is what happened to Simon Bailey, a fireman of nearly thirty years, hounded out of his job because he didn't bark at his colleagues for using a word that every Briton has used since childhood. This wasn't a dispute over language. It was the public shaming of a man who wouldn't bend the knee to the new faith.
The truth is stark. Bailey wasn't punished for wrongdoing. He was punished for failing to perform the role of political enforcer. The fire service didn't care about his record, his commendations, or the decades he spent running into burning buildings. They cared that he didn't act as a language warden for a set of rules that weren't even written down. In any sane country, a senior firefighter who risked his life for others would be treated with honour. In modern Britain, he is hauled before a tribunal because he didn't scold his men fast enough when someone said "fireman".
What makes this episode so revealing is how one person's sense of offence became the law of the land. A firefighter complains that the word is "outdated" and "sexist", and overnight her subjective feelings become organisational doctrine. No debate. No directive. No settled policy. Just a demand that everyone fall in line. And when Bailey didn't, when he refused to badger grown adults over a harmless word, the system moved with ruthless speed. He was humiliated, given a final written warning, and left to crumble under the weight of a process designed to break him. He became, in his own words, "a shell of himself" – and that was the point. Show trials aren't about guilt. They're about obedience.
What we see here is institutional cowardice dressed up as progress. Management didn't stand by their man. They threw him to the wolves to protect themselves from another headline, another tribunal, another activist grievance dressed as justice. They let a veteran fireman – someone who spent a lifetime protecting the public – become collateral damage in a culture that rewards outrage and punishes backbone. When the people who run your fire service are more frightened of hurt feelings than burning buildings, you know you're living in a country that has lost all sense of proportion.
And this is the real rot. Authority has been outsourced to activists. Acheson's ideology – grievance inflation, speech policing, the cult of permanent offence – is now the default setting of public institutions. Ordinary workers are forced to tiptoe through a moral minefield, knowing that one misplaced word can ruin them. Experience counts for nothing. Loyalty counts for nothing. Service counts for nothing. The only thing that matters is whether you obey the latest rules of ideological fashion, even if those rules shift week to week.
Simon Bailey didn't fail the fire service. The fire service failed him. And in doing so, it exposed something rotten at the heart of modern Britain: a country where the guardians of public life would rather crush a man of character than risk upsetting the commissars of language. A country where the word "fireman" is treated as a threat, but witch-hunts against decent people are applauded as courage.
This wasn't discipline. It was a purge. A warning to everyone who still believes in plain speech and common sense. Obey, or suffer. Conform, or be cast out. And unless this mindset is fought – openly, fearlessly, relentlessly – there will be many more Simon Baileys before this culture burns itself out.
