shaming people for being “uneducated” where education is purposefully underfunded & gerrymandering/voter suppression plays a large role in keeping the state red isn’t the take you think it is, it comes from a place of classism & undermines the long fight of local organizers
I'm so tired of hearing people say "we've survived 4 years of Trump, we can survive 4 more." There are A LOT of people who literally didn't survive because of his policies, decisions, and rhetoric. That statement is a statement of a ton of privilege.
Thousands peacefully kneeling in DC remembering George Floyd chanting, “Stop Killing Black People.”
Why isn’t this video viral? Why is the media only interested in talking about isolated acts of vandalism & theft?
We’re here & We ain’t leaving.
“Y’all rly get your news from Twitter” Yes, you pube. Twitter is updated IN REAL TIME by the REAL PEOPLE who are REALLY OUT HERE. There is no political posturing or agenda when the news comes straight from the source—the people. And the people are on Twitter. It’s not that hard.
U.S. black people have had to resist the State longer than four years, their entire lives, and not out of choice; the #GeorgeFloyd protests are not a political rally or an issue that can be resolved with an election or removing Trump.
We need a complete overhaul of the system.
If you consider yourself an ally, you need to do more than just worry about police brutality. Donate. If you don’t have the money, go to a protest. If you can’t go to a protest, sign petitions and share information. Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something.
