i understand that purpose of the hand signals and im very thankful to whoever started it.
but what irks me is that asians are always expected to know everything about what the west has, but they don’t have the same equal expectation that the westerners should follow anything that asians start/stand up for.
this is just a rant of how i feel in case anyone wants to jump on me lol maybe it’s the trauma of being colonized by white ppl
Hello!
I would like to sincerely apologize for my use of the Domestic Violence Hand Signal.
At the time, I mistakenly understood the gesture to be a general sign for asking for help in everyday situations. My use of the signal came from a lack of awareness and understanding of its true meaning and the serious context in which it is intended to be used.
I am truly sorry to everyone, especially those who felt disappointed, hurt, or concerned by my actions. I take full responsibility for my mistake and understand the importance of being more informed and mindful when using symbols that carry significant meaning.
I will take the time to educate myself, be more thoughtful in my actions and expressions, and use this experience as an opportunity to raise awareness so that more people can better understand the significance of this signal and the issue it represents.
Thank you for your feedback, and for taking the time to educate me on this matter. I truly appreciate it🤍
