I've a short commentary in JCE - labs are getting bigger, brighter, more stimulating in every way. We've thought a lot about cognitive overload, but what about sensory overload? The chemistry lab can be a trying environment to be in, let alone think in?

@patrickthomson Indeed. What I found interesting though is that literature suggests anyone can experience it regardless of whether they have a diagnosed sensory issue. Often due to stress, fatigue etc. Returning after lockdown proved to me just how hard these environments are on one's senses
