They have enough firepower to hurt anybody, especially in attack. When you look at that frontline, it’s a mix of experience, chaos, pace and unpredictability. Sadio Mané still carries that big-game aura, Ismaïla Sarr can destroy teams in transition, and Nicolas Jackson gives them raw intensity with constant movement behind the line. Then you add younger profiles like Assane Diao, Iliman Ndiaye, Ibrahim Mbaye, and it becomes a team that can hurt you in different ways. Low block, Transition, they have the firepower for all.

What makes them dangerous is not just individual names alone , it’s the physicality and athleticism across the entire squad. Their midfield can run forever, press aggressively and dominate second balls. Pape Matar Sarr and Lamine Camara especially give them legs, energy and control. They’re one of those teams that can turn a match into pure intensity very quickly.

Defensively too, there’s still serious presence. Kalidou Koulibaly brings leadership and experience, while the newer defenders around him add recovery pace and aggression. This isn’t a soft team to play against at all.

African teams are no longer going to World Cups just to compete respectfully. This generation genuinely believes they can beat elite nations. Morocco breaking that barrier in 2022 changed the mentality completely. Senegal already had the talent before, but now there’s belief attached to it too.

If they stay healthy and the attack clicks at the right time, they’re absolutely one of those teams no major nation will want to face in knockout football.
