Why is AST filing for Special Temporary Authority after SpaceX acquired EchoStar's spectrum?

My theory: AST is keeping its regulatory options open, potentially for testing or future spectrum access.

The filing's purpose remains unverified. An STA does not grant permanent spectrum rights.

One green day doesn't erase the losses or solve the uncertainty.

But at this point, I'm seriously considering offering AST SpaceMobile my marketing advice for free.

That's how badly I think this company needs to improve its communication strategy.

We need concrete milestones, not another promotional video telling us what we already know.

AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile reportedly urged the FCC to preserve carrier protections in satellite-to-phone rules.

AST already operates through carrier partnerships, so retaining spectrum leasing requirements could favor its model.

But restricting new bands could limit growth.
