Full grown adults that can’t swim, cycle, skate, backpack, take a gap year, vacation, play an instrument or speak multiple foreign languages. Just a lifetime of hustling and trying to leave survival mode. These are subtle poverty metrics that no one really talks about
i once heard someone say “if there are 12 Nazis in a room and they ask you to have dinner with them and you agree, then there are 13 Nazis in that room” and i think a lot of people fundamentally don’t understand that. but it’s 100% true.
‘I can’t believe Kav chose that girl over you’ nahhh sorry that is rude. This is what I cannot stand about some girls, just being awful about someone’s looks because of a GUY #loveisland
At some point in mental illness you stop going “I’m so sorry it’s because of the depression/autism/adhd” and start going “I’m not well in the head. I do what I want. Stay out of my way” and this, ironically, will massively improve your day-to-day mental health
Muted but one thing I will add: by model I meant sit down & explain the concepts of distance, growing apart, communication, mutual effort etc. As an adult if you don’t understand your friends might be too busy/overwhelmed to socialize then no this was not properly taught to you.
I think our elders didn’t do a good job at modeling how friendship changes from adolescence/young adulthood to 30s and beyond. A lot of us think friendships are supposed to look & feel like they did when we were in high-school & college. & thats just not realistic.
The North of Ireland has the second highest rate of femicide in Europe, but you don't see all these supposed 'concerned citizens' taking to the streets over that, do you? Probably because a lot of these hateful neanderthals are beating their wives behind closed doors themselves.
Fact: He traveled there for his cooking show & when they tried to block this one episode, he said he would pull his entire show from the network & this was the first time the world ever saw behind the walls in Gaza 2013
