I don’t get how Boris can vouch that primary schools are safe when even in a large, new school like mine with big classrooms, we can only fit a max of 15 in that can socially distance 2m apart. I dread to think about the smaller village school’s classes😅😅
Despite 5 different pods in my school closing during the last week of autumn term due to covid cases, primary schools even in tier 4 are expected to stay open (apart from some in SE) and carry on without any staff or children getting any PPE or testing! Madness
Taught fractions of an amount today in prep for our arithmetic test, and I am SO RELIEVED at how easily they understood it🥳🥳 Times like these make me realise how rewarding teaching is😅
I’d also like to add that pressure should be taken off both teaching staff AND children. Times are tough enough this time of year with miserable weather and dark days, let alone not being allowed to leave the house to see relatives or go for Xmas meals etc🙍🏼♀️
I’m happy for schools to stay open, but only if we get supplied with more effective cleaning equipment, PPE and larger spaces to socially distance. Knowing that there are over 20k cases a day and I’m still expected to be stuck in a small classroom with 30 children scares me!!
