A lady shared that she had been out of work for 9 months and had gone through multiple interviews with no success. Then, a friend referred her to a company and to her surprise, they skipped the interview process entirely because of the strength of that referral. Her friend was known as an exceptional and trustworthy employee, and the company valued her recommendation so highly that they fast-tracked the process straight to an offer letter.
Even more amazing, the new job pays three times more than her previous one.
What stood out to me is this: being credible and diligent isn’t just an asset to you, it’s also an asset to your network.
This is a powerful reminder to be excellent and committed in whatever you do. Your integrity and diligence can open doors not only for you, but for others connected to you.
After my wife's birthday celebrations today, a friend took all the balloons home because she teaches in Children's church and needs to keep the kids excited tomorrow.
I made a small prayer for her in my heart that at the end of all things, God considers here a good and faithful servant.
The way she faithfully took them down and did the arduous walk down the stairs, fitting them in her Uber safely and will do the same run tomorrow morning.
And to you who thinks God doesn't see you, I promise you his eyes are not weak, they are continually rested on the righteous.
We were at the airport in Accra waiting for our flight back to Nigeria. Take-off time was 5.15 pm and we'd arrived early enough to settle in at the lounge and grab some snacks and drinks.
About twenty minutes to 5, I checked my wristwatch. I glanced at the screen ahead of me and saw our flight "Ibom Air - 5:15 pm - On time". Okay.
About ten minutes to 5, I checked my wristwatch again and began to get uncomfortable. Our flight hadn't been called. It was unusual. I glanced at the screen again and still saw our flight with "On time". I almost thought they were mad. This is say 20 minutes to our take-off, you've not called us, and you're saying we are on time. How?
I kept my cool. Then about five minutes past 5 pm, I looked at my wristwatch again and, this time, looked at my husband who was comfortably working on his laptop.
WHY HAVEN'T THEY CALLED US???
We were literally ten minutes away from take-off and they hadn't even boarded us. "Oh God, these Nigerian airlines!!! Always showing their anyhowness. In what world is this even acceptable?!!!"
My husband's response was shockingly calm - "Baby, they'll still call us. We're on time".
Ah ha. ON TIME KE???? Meanwhile, my husband is the human reference of punctuality. He gets everywhere early.
That was when it clicked!!! When we arrived Ghana, my phone's clock had automatically reset to Ghanaian time. However, because I wanted to stay connected to the Nigeria, I left my wristwatch on Nigerian time.
It was 5.15 Nigerian time, but it was 4.15 Ghanaian time 😭😭😭
I couldn't believe my ridiculousness. I spent the next one hour thinking about what that means to many of us. Are you really late in life? Or are you just unaware of the time of your life? Are you really late? Or is the problem the clock you're looking at.
Often, we're looking at how our lives move with wristwatches that belong to the societal pressure. You're getting older. You should have done this. Time is running. You're late already.
But what if you're not late? What if you're on time? What if you simply need to understand what God says about who you are and where you are?
As the Yorubas say, "Má wo ago aláago ṣiṣẹ́ ọ" (Do not work with someone else's time).
That experience will remain with me.
My son and I travelled from Canada to Nigeria about a week ago
As we were praying as a family to leave the house and catch our flight, my husband pulled me close and started praying
He said “Lord, as I won’t be going on this trip with my wife and my son, please send your Angel to be with them”
We said Amen.
As we sat down at the airport lounge in the first layover waiting for our next flight, an elderly white man came and sat beside us.
Immediately my son started smiling at Him. This man told me to rest that He was here. He started playing with my son and running around the airport with him and I just sat down resting.
When it was time to go I said thank you and we left
When I got off that flight to enter the next connecting flight, this man was still on the next one with us
He Carried my hand luggage all around the airport. This bad was really heavy
He kept my boy super entertained because my son was obsessed with His pointy nose
At some point he went and got food and snacks and fruit. He carried my boy all around. And the long layover time passed like it was nothing
He was like our bodyguard, carry one help and nanny all in one.
Before we boarded the last plane heading to Africa, He told us He was leaving and heading back to Europe.
Before he left he looked at me and said “do you know my name?”
I said “no sir”
He said “my name is William”
That’s my son’s name. All the while I never knew. I was so shocked
I’m not sure exactly how we stumbled on a man who stood beside me almost my entire trip, helping me so much and making my journey a lot easier
All I know is that my husband asked God to send us an Angel and God did.
As you start this new week, remember that God answers prayer.
In the big and small aspects of life, involve God
The supernatural is real and very tangible for those who engage it
God is still healing people
God is still miraculously providing
God is still sending Angels on assignment
God is still answering prayers
Blessings!
Another perfect day to clear up some common misconceptions.
Listen:
1. You don't NEED antibiotics when you have a cold.
2. You CANNOT shift anybody's womb. You cannot even reach it. Don't be stupid.
3. Diabetes is NOT caused by adding too much sugar to your garri.
4. For the last time, Typhoid is NOT malaria and malaria is not Tyforce. Stop diagnosing yourself of typhoid everytime you are ill or have a fever or stomach upset.
5. Hypertension ISN'T caused just by too much thinking.
6. You CANNOT "flush" ur system of illness by "pissing all the sickness away". They LIED to you..6. Your body doesn't need daily supplements. Just eat normally and healthy.
7. You do not need a special kind of tea to flush your system. You are not a public toilet.
8. Putting spoon in a person's mouth during a convulsion will NOT stop ANY convulsion.
9. Taking "Hampicloss" after sexual intercourse will NOT protect you from sexually transmitted infections or pregnancy.
10. Stop the daily douching and stop washing your vaginas with antiseptics. You are only exposing yourself to infections.
Oh... and this one is very important:
Slimming tea CANNOT remove all that fat. It will only make you purge till you are dehydrated (if you are very religious with it) and land you in the accident and emergency of the nearest teaching hospital to you. Go to a Gym, work out and DIET!
Pass it on if you care.
Uncle Femi's compound in Shomolu had one unusual feature ..
A long wooden bench by the entrance gate.
It wasn't there for security, nor decoration.
Every evening around 7pm, Uncle Femi would come out, sit on that bench, and greet everyone coming in.
"Welcome." "How was your day?" "Hope you had a good one."
At first, new tenants found it awkward.
After a long day in Lagos, the last thing you want is a conversation.
Some would rush past with forced smiles.
But Uncle Femi never stopped. Slowly, something changed.
People began to slow down. Sit for just two minutes. Those two minutes would turn into small conversations. Then laughter. Then familiarity. Then good vibes.
Soon, the bench became a meeting point.
A banker discussing with a tailor.
A student asking a Nurse for advice.
Someone sharing food.
Someone borrowing charger.
Nothing pre-planned, just people existing together.
Then one evening, Uncle Femi didn't come out.
7pm passed. The bench was empty.
Tenants noticed, but everyone assumed he was resting.
By 8pm, one woman said: "Has anyone seen Uncle Femi today?"
Silence.
Another tenant mentioned he hadn't opened his door since morning.
Something felt wrong. For a moment, everyone hesitated.
Then one of them stood up. "Let's check."
They knocked. No response. The hesitation broke. Within minutes, five people were at his door.
They called his name, louder this time. Still nothing.
They forced the door open.
Uncle Femi was inside, lying on the floor, weak, barely conscious.
Everything moved fast after that. Someone called for a car. Another grabbed water. Someone stayed by his side, talking to him, keeping him awake.
They took him to the hospital.
Uncle Femi survived.
If that bench didn't exist, who knows what might have happened to Uncle Femi?
If those small daily conversations never happened, it would have been a quiet death for Uncle Femi.
In many modern apartments, especially in busy places like Lagos, people live side by side but don't actually know each other. Everyone is behind doors, headphones in, minding their business to the extreme.
Let us care!Let us be present!
Let us bring back community!
Around this time last year I was in a serious debt(strong 7 figures) due to a bad investment call but I told no one.
One day I was on the phone with my little sister (who stays with my mum) and that one was asking me for money to buy a wig cos I instructed her not to touch the money from her business.
I told her "Alaye I'm broke o" (something I rarely say), unknown to me that the phone was on loudspeaker and mum heard it in her room.
Only for me to drop the call and barely an hour after I saw 100k alert from an unknown name. She called few minutes after to know if i've gotten it.
Apparently, she had given my account number to one of her tenants who was ready to pay balance for one of her shops. I told her "Wura, I was only joking o and it's not that bad now" to think I was still owing her for her monthly allowance that month.
she insisted that I keep the money regardless, cos that's the only way she'll be able to go to bed with a rested mind knowing her son is not flat broke. The conversation was still on when another 20k entered from my lil sister for my internet subscription, she had no idea Wura had sent me any money.
Those gestures reassured me that day that no matter how crazy it gets out here, there'll always be loving and safe hands to fall back to at home.

There is another group of individuals I need to address this morning.
Those who say they prefer to write ACCA over ICAN, because of the global advantage it will give them if they relocate to the UK.
There is actually a subset of these individuals that are of concern. They waited a couple of years to have enough money to write ACCA one or two papers per diet, started their ACCA exams, wrote 3/4 papers, then stopped because there is no money to continue.
After staying on the sideline for long, they now decide to start ICAN. Since ICAN doesn't offer paper for paper conversion, they start all over again.
Considering the cost of one ACCA paper, that's enough money to pay for 6 papers in Skills and 5 papers in Professional, there will be a lot of cash left for other needs.
Why have these people choosen to waste their time and money?
A bird in hand is worth more than a 1000 birds in the bush.
What hapens to writing ICAN now, becoming an ACA and there after writing the ACCA when they are financially stable?
Uk, you never go.
ACCA, you didn't complete.
ICAN, you are starting all over.
Time is gone.
Money is waste.
Even if ACCA is your goal, write ICAN first. Use that one to hold body, and change your life with every little step.
“Where a taxpayer fails, neglects or refuses to settle any established outstanding tax liability when due, LIRS MAY exercise its power under Section 60 to direct any of the following persons to pay the amount owed by the taxpayer”
In case anyone missed this part of the circular…
What the above means is that the tax authority must have communicated and given a notice period before they resort to any other means of collecting what is owed to the government.
What Taiwo said still stands, nobody will deduct money from your bank, except as a last resort, only after you have chosen not to pay… I know agenda must still agend, but I hope this helps.
Audit Assertions-Explained!
Audit assertions are the claims made by management about the recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of items in the financial statements.
Simply put, assertions are what management is saying is true about the numbers in the accounts.
Management: ‘Can we have this report ASAP?’
Finance Team: ‘Sure, almost ready.’
Also finance: starts building the report from scratch because nothing exists😭
📌Reboot camp is ongoing and will end on Sunday

I submitted my NIN at work for CUG processing and I was told they couldn’t verify it.
I called someone who does NIN as referred to me, and that one said I have to pay 15k for revalidation.
This is just to inform you that I went to NIN office, and I had it done for free.
