Key outcomes included the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA), a renminbi trading hub in and uranium cooperation deals.
On Sept. 5, Smith officially welcomed the incoming Class of 2026 to its Master of Finance – Beijing program during an opening reception held in #Beijing.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education in China, and the Embassy of Canada to China, underscoring the program’s international significance and academic partnership. Dean Lynnette Purda was on hand to greet new students and mark the occasion.
Later that evening, Smith hosted a Smith Alumni China gathering, bringing together current students and alumni for an evening of networking and community building. Following the reception, students from both the Executive and International #SmithMFin sections began orientation and their first course sessions on Renmin University’s campus.
In the days after the opening, Smith representatives met with alumni in Shenzhen and Chengdu for smaller gatherings, continuing to foster strong connections across the global Smith alumni network.
