The chargesheet naming Yasin Malik as the alleged mastermind behind the abduction, torture and murder of Sarla Bhatt is more than a legal milestone. It is a message that time cannot erase the crimes committed during the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits.
Sarla Bhatt was not an isolated victim. She was among countless innocents targeted to terrorise an entire community into fleeing its ancestral homeland. Their stories were buried under decades of silence, but their suffering cannot and must not be erased from our collective memory.
For decades, many of those who orchestrated this campaign believed they would never face justice. That illusion is beginning to crumble.
The law has a long memory. Every mastermind, every conspirator and every perpetrator who led or enabled the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits must be brought to justice, regardless of how many years have passed.
Justice delayed is not justice denied.

Statement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Regarding the Response to the U.S. Aggression and Breach of Commitments in the Attack on the Coasts of the Islamic Republic of Iran
June 27 2026
(Unofficial Translation)
In the Name of God, the Destroyer of the Tyrants
"So whoever transgresses against you, then transgress against him in the same manner as he transgressed against you." (Qur'an 2:194)
Following the violation of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon, the United States—once again demonstrating its pattern of breaching commitments—launched an aerial attack against the coasts of the Islamic Republic of Iran a few hours ago, under the pretext of preventing the passage of a non-compliant vessel through an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz.
In response to this act of aggression, the Naval Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted and struck positions hosting the terrorist U.S. military forces in the region.
Pursuant to Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the arrangements governing navigation control and transit in the Strait of Hormuz fall under coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, the United States, through various provocations, sought to violate these commitments. An appropriate response has therefore been delivered, and any similar actions in the future will be met in the same manner.
Should such aggression be repeated, the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be broader and more decisive.
It was under your watch when kashmiri pundits were forced into https://t.co/uYX4aEHENV were playing golf in London your son is the Chief minister, has he done anything for the return of kashmiri pundits?
After 36 long years of exile, an elderly Kashmiri Pandit woman returned to her ancestral home in Danew, Bogund, Kulgam.
The moment she stepped into her courtyard, time seemed to stand still. She bent down, touched the soil she had been separated from for decades, and kissed the old walnut tree that had silently witnessed her childhood, her memories, and her absence.
Overcome with emotion, she broke down in tears. She knelt before the tree, folded her hands in prayer, and embraced it as if she were reuniting with a beloved family member lost to time.
With a trembling voice, she whispered in Kashmiri:
“Che cheya b’e yaad?”
(“Do you remember me?”)
A question not just to a tree, but to a home, a homeland, and a lifetime of memories left behind.
One of the most heart-wrenching scenes you will ever witness, a reminder that exile may separate people from their homes, but never from their roots.
36+ years of forced exodus from homeland Kashmir. Hope the world remembers the genocide and ethnic cleansing against Hindus of Kashmir.
