📢 MAKE 31ST OCTOBER THE PERMANENT TAX AUDIT DUE DATE
No one would seek an extension beyond 30th September if:
✅ Q4 TDS Return remains due by 30th April
✅ Form 26AS & AIS are available by 15th May
✅ All ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B & 10BB and e-filing utilities are available by 15th May
✅ Non-audit ITR due date remains 31st July
QUALITY COMPLIANCE NEEDS ADEQUATE TIME
Tax Audit is not just form-filling.
It requires proper verification, reconciliation, documentation and professional judgement.
📌 31st October should be the permanent Tax Audit due date — not an extension, but a practical compliance deadline.

📢 EXTEND THE TAX AUDIT DUE DATE TO 31ST OCTOBER PERMANENTLY
Why is this necessary?
🔹Tax Audit is not merely form-filling; it requires verification, reconciliation, documentation and professional judgement.
🔹 AIS, Form 26AS, TDS and GST data need to be properly reconciled before the audit can be finalised.
🔹 Multiple compliances — ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B, 10BB and other statutory requirements — create an excessive workload within a short period.
🔹 Frequent changes in tax provisions, forms and e-filing utilities require adequate time for proper compliance.
🔹 Portal/technical issues and last-minute information should not compromise the quality of the audit.
🔹 Rushed audits increase the risk of errors and omissions, affecting both taxpayers and tax administration.
The objective should be:
Adequate Time → Better Verification → Better Audit → Better Compliance
📌 A practical solution:
* If Q4 TDS Return is due by 30th April,
* AIS & Form 26AS are available by 15th May,
* ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B & 10BB and utilities are available by 15th May,
and
* Non-audit ITRs remain due by 31st July
THERE IS NO NEED TO SEEK AN EXTENSION BEYOND 30TH SEPTEMBER EVERY YEAR.
🗓️ 31ST OCTOBER SHOULD BE THE PERMANENT TAX AUDIT DUE DATE.

Tax audit assessees already pay major advance/self-assessment tax upfront. Audit is purely for verifying books & reporting, causing zero revenue loss to the exchequer.
In public interest, permanently set Tax Audit due date to 31st Oct.

TAX AUDIT DUE DATE: 31st OCTOBER PERMANENTLY
No professional would seek an extension beyond 30th September if the compliance ecosystem is aligned:
✅ Q4 TDS Return by 30th April
✅ Form 26AS & AIS available by 15th May
✅ All ITRs + Tax Audit Forms — 3CD, 10B & 10BB — and e-filing utilities available by 15th May
✅ Non-audit ITR due date continues as 31st July
Quality compliance needs adequate time.
Tax Audit is not merely a form-filling exercise. It involves verification, examination, reconciliation, documentation and professional judgement.
A reasonable and permanent 31st October deadline would enable professionals to deliver better-quality audits and improve the overall quality of tax compliance.
Extend the Tax Audit Due Date to 31st October Permanently.

Tax Audit due date should be PERMANENTLY extended to 31st October.
There is no revenue loss to the Government, as taxes are already paid through Advance Tax/Self-Assessment Tax.
It’s time to end the yearly cycle of extensions and provide a clear, practical deadline.

Normal person mobile recharge - ₹249/PM - Unlimited calls
Meanwhile, MP/MLA got phone allowance - ₹15,000
6000% more than normal person recharge.
That too in an era of unlimited calls available at very less price.
This is absolute waste of taxpayer money.
5 years of being a CA and I am still figuring out why I pay to ICAI almost 5k COP fees (more after becoming an FCA), and another 5k for completing my structured CPE.
Fees for peer review certificate additionally, while they cant even represent us b4 the govt for genuine extensn
आज का Tax Audit Tip:

EXTEND THE TAX AUDIT DUE DATE TO 31ST OCTOBER PERMANENTLY
30th September is NOT the only deadline for submission of the TAX AUDIT REPORT!
30th September is also the due date for several other important statutory compliances, including:
🔹 Audit Report of Charitable/ Religious Trusts in Form 10B/Form 10BB
🔹 Application for Renewal of Registration of Charitable/Religious Trusts under Section 332
🔹 Application for Renewal of Approval of Charitable/Religious Trusts under Section 354
ONE MONTH IS NOT ENOUGH FOR QUALITY AUDITS
A proper tax audit requires detailed verification, reconciliation, scrutiny of records, examination of financial statements and supporting documents, and professional review.
When multiple statutory compliances fall on the same date, expecting Chartered Accountants to complete quality audits within a limited timeframe creates unnecessary pressure and compromises the objective of accurate, thorough and quality compliance.
Adequate Time for Professionals =
Better Verification + Better Compliance + Better Quality
LET US ENSURE A QUALITY AUDIT, NOT A RUSHED AUDIT.

Last year, till 16 September, Non-Audit ITRs were being filed, while the Government was asking professionals to complete Tax Audits by 30 September.
Professionals approached the Courts. Finally, an extension was granted, taking the Tax Audit deadline to 10 November.
This year, the situation is similar.
31 August was the due date for Non-Audit ITRs, while 30 September is the Tax Audit deadline. In practical terms, August was largely consumed with Non-Audit ITR compliance, leaving very limited effective time for Tax Audit work.
@IncomeTaxIndia, there is a genuine and practical ground for extension.
But more importantly, please address the issue permanently.
The historical statutory gap between Non-Audit ITRs and Tax Audit compliance should be maintained in the law as well.
31 October should be made the permanent Tax Audit Due Date.
A permanent solution is better than asking professionals to seek an extension every year.
Hospital bill Without Ayushman Bharat =₹ 15,000
Hospital bill With Ayushman Bharat =₹ 1,50,000
Hospitals are taking advantage of ayushman bharat , bill higher amout than usual rates and looting money from government.
Everyone know this but No one is Taking action against this robbery
Tax Audit due date must be extended to 31.10.2026.
TAR extension is not a demand for more time but it's for quality compliances.
Quality audit is not possible outside date extension.
Aur ITR file hue bina Tax Audit ka kya hi benefit h department ko✅🫡

The demand of the majority of tax professionals is simple and practical:
• Tax Audit Report — permanently fixed at 31st October
• ITR filing for audited cases — 30th November
• Company statutory forms/ROC filings — 31st December
A predictable compliance calendar will help professionals plan their work, give taxpayers sufficient time, and most importantly, allow CAs to complete audits with the time and attention they actually require.
Frequent extensions and last-minute changes are not a solution to a structural problem.
A stable compliance calendar is better for professionals, taxpayers and the system itself.
