So Kwasi Kwarteng says he wants to lower debt to GDP over time. Together with today's tax cuts budget, this *will* mean future cuts to essential public services.

I've written in @FENews about why - if the Government is serious about value for money - between the Treasury and Department for Education they should be transparent about the number apprenticeships being created, where, for who and across which sectors. https://t.co/ly7qGSfuwh
To date, we have created over 1,000 apprenticeships with £10 million of apprenticeship levy from large employers. If you're an employer and want to make full use of your own levy, get in touch: [email protected] [ends].
Our analysis is in @FENews this morning. £3.3 billion of unspent apprenticeship levy returned to the Treasury in the last three years; we're calling on the Government to be transparent about how that money is spent. https://t.co/WeWsrPVYCI
New analysis from @AnnaAmbrose and I in the FT today shows that over £3.3 billion in unspent apprenticeship levy has returned to the Treasury within the last three years – the equivalent of £95 million per month. A thread on why that is an issue. [1/10]

We're delighted that our research has been published in the @FT. It shows that far too many people are missing out on apprenticeships, with over £3.3 billion in unspent levy having returned to the Treasury in the last three years. [thread]
