Yes, agreed. But some reporters don't want to get spammed so they may not list their contact info. But I find this to be an issue generally w/websites a lot-- they either want you to use a contact form or a generic email like [email protected] -- it can be frustrating. #contactinfo
This is really smart.
It is hard sometimes as a recruiter to find contact info for reporters and editors, and I worry that if I can’t reach a person, then sources can’t, either!
#LuigiMangione#Presspasses A wacky development from the Luigi Mangione case. Three fans/influencers dubbed the "Mangionistas" given press passes to cover his trial. Kinda nuts! There used to be stricter press pass rules.

Much needed story on #dogs in #NYC -- it's not just about poop. I've owned a dog & friends have owned dogs. The problem w/some dog owners & some breeds is NY is too small for some big & mean dogs & owners don't always control dogs in elevators, lobbies, outdoors, etc.
“If there wasn’t dog shit all over the sidewalks, then I don’t think dogs would necessarily be coming to a boiling point,” one dog owner reflected.

From @TheAthletic: For 40 years, Duke has been college basketball’s most polarizing team. People love to hate Duke.
But has Duke basketball become less hateable? Perhaps, maybe, even likable? https://t.co/Z2jcL2ANjA
The University of North Carolina continues to make the Hubert Davis situation 1000000x worse.
Either rip the Band-Aid off and make a change, or fully back Davis as the program's coach. ⬇️

This was a bad and a winnable game. But I am more worried about @general_caleb_w and the injury to his hand. What's the story on that? Hubert wasn't very forthcoming about that.
"Everyone knew it would be tough to bounce back from that Duke game, on the road against a quality opponent, but this was their opportunity to show that they’re a top 10 team."

#UNC is simply a better program than Duke.
More chips, leads the all time series, the Final Four win.
No amount of five-stars or hype will change that. Sorry, Devils.
It seems like only yesterday that nearly every American newspaper, dozens and dozens of them, even in mid-size cities, ran book reviews by local critics.
The alt-weeklies (I wrote for many of them) were everywhere and had feisty and boisterous book sections.
Time, Newsweek and other weeklies had serious critics who mattered to the conversation.
All this is gone.
The stamping out of the Washington’s Post’s excellent book section - one of the last standing - ends an era. It’s a turning point in America's literature, which can’t thrive without serious and ardent criticism - aka public talk, back and forth, between competing voices, in something like real time.
The silence out there is good for no one. Gloom suddenly feels like eclipse.
What's happening at @washingtonpost is bad but unsurprising. Print is down, media under attack, & lots of owners are billionaires. Note @PittsburghPG & @ajc etc. As to this tweet on WaP & sports, note that @nytimes cut its sports dept. & replaced it with the @Athletic. #newsmedia
Every person in sports at The Washington Post would be wise to look elsewhere right now.
That's just reality.
Now here's the other reality:
You still have to do your job at the highest level, your editors have to do their jobs at the highest level, and you as a writer/copy person/designer etc...want to work hard for them. And most importantly: You want to do your best work for readers.
Just terrible conditions as far as one's mental health — and I'm sure everyone will still produce great copy.
But that's what's happening.
#inflation#affordability#groceries#prices $80, $100 -- this is what it costs now to buy not all that much at the store. As Chico Marx once said: Who are you going to believe? Me or your own eyes? Or in this case, the grocery bill tells the real story about prices, not the B.S.
