This is a wonderful narrative on how and why clinical trials in Hepatology in the UK struggle to transfer conclusions to the real-world. A powerful piece which argues something we all know: we must involve the patients it affects. A collaboration between patients, Hepatologists, patient representatives and others, it describes what we really need to aspire to to ensure we are doing high quality and answering relevant questions. And thus @UK_CLIF was born!

@jd_wilko @JeremySussman I did this. Lots of apparent reasons to do a stepped wedge. Got funding. Covid happened. Came back to actually do the study - the stepped wedge was infeasible and it turned out that individual randomisation was completely appropriate after all.
