Is BIM really still a ‘new’ technology after 20 years?🤔 With some adopting early and others just starting, the industry is split! Discover why BIM feels fresh to some and familiar to others🌐💡
Are you a BIM pioneer or a newcomer?
In addition to the 7 dimensions mentioned above, there is now an open debate on three “new dimensions of BIM” including:
• 8D – safety during design and construction
• 9D – lean construction
• 10D – construction industrialisation.
#BIM is not only about 3D modelling, but it also allows you to manage a series of information regarding materials, costs and time.
In fact, every time a specific type of information is specified into the model. According to BIM fundamentals there are seven recognised “dimensions”
• 6D sustainability| environmental, economic and social sustainability impact studies
• 7D life cycle and maintenance | Facility Management: planning and management of maintenance operations throughout the building’s lifecycle.
