Je sens que ce terme sera pertinent dans les multiples débats politiques en 2026, au Québec et ailleurs...

Issu du latin 'sempiternalis', une contraction éloquente de 'semper' (toujours) et 'aeternus' (éternel).
Là où l'adjectif 'éternel' touche au sublime et 'perpétuel' au factuel, ce mot porte une charge subjective d'agacement et d'ironie. Il qualifie ce qui revient mécaniquement, usant la patience par son caractère ininterrompu et prévisible.

Utilisez-le pour souligner l'absurdité d'un débat qui tourne en rond ou de doléances répétées.
Synonymes : incessant, perpétuel, récurrent.
