Check out my dear friend Dana’s new book available on Amazon. It’s the true story of her son, Bauer’s story through his heart defects found right after birth. A story of God’s faithfulness!
Dolly Parton's legacy is taking the field with Tennessee football all season.
The Vols will wear a sticker on the back of their helmets honoring the East Tennessee icon, with Coach Josh Heupel pointing to everything Parton gave back to the place she always proudly called home.
Parton, who grew up just outside Knoxville in Sevierville, died Aug. 25 at 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
Miley Cyrus & Dolly Parton singing I Will Always Love You x Wrecking Ball. Their last performance together and one of the greatest performances ever.
In 1988 Dolly Parton pulled every 7th and 8th grader in Sevier County into a room and told them to pick a buddy.
She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.
The county dropout rate went from 35% to 6%.
She handed out the checks herself.
In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.
When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.
You've probably heard that part.
Here's the part you haven't:
The fund raised more than expected, so she showed up in May and handed every one of those families another $5,000 on top.
Then she quietly put $3 million into the recovery group that handles the years after the news trucks leave.
She built her county an entire hospital.
She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.
In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.
Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.
In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.
And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.
She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.
She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.
Rest in Peace, Dolly 🇺🇸
Well, I just got the news that my buddy Dolly passed onto the higher and greater side.
Dolly, thank you for all the wonderful things you did for us here on earth.
Your love, your music and you gave so much with your huge huge heart.
There will never ever be another you.
We will remember and cherish every memory and every note you ever played and sang.
Thank you, Lord, for Dolly.
She’s gonna have a blast in heaven singing all her favorite songs with all her family and friends who have gone on before her.
I’ll never forget the first time I met you and I’ll never forget our last conversation. I hold it with love in my heart.
I will always love you,
Reba
Statement on behalf of the Kirk Family:
The conclusion of the preliminary hearing marks an important step forward in the pursuit of justice for Charlie. Our family is grateful for the prayers, support, and kindness that has been extended to us, especially through these unimaginably painful and emotionally demanding proceedings.
As difficult as these last few days have been, it brings our family comfort to know that the world has witnessed the overwhelming evidence of what occurred to Charlie that day.
Nothing will ever undo the loss of our beloved Charlie. As this case moves into its next phase, we pray that truth will continue to be heard through a process that is fair, transparent, and grounded in the facts.
Feels like a good time to remind everyone we have a sitting Supreme Court justice who says she doesn't know what a woman is because she's not a biologist 🤡🤡🤡
@WHFraudTF Let’s don’t forget there are still some really good Hospice and Home Health agencies out there who are doing all they can to keep the doors open. Please don’t punish them because of the ones who are doing these vile things. families and patients will suffer because of this too.
