PERRY WAYNE OUZTS, the oldest jockey to ever win a race in North America, picks up win #7,534 in today's 2nd race at @BelterraPark!!

At the age of 71, Ouzts earned his 3rd win of the year today aboard Lipstick N Lashes for trainer Barbara Riley.

Ouzts turns 72 on July 7 and holds the record for the most career mounts of any jockey in North American history, now with 53,729 #Ironman

He has scheduled mounts at Belterra on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There's a filly running tonight named Percy's Bar.

She's named after Percy Pool. A bartender who spent 47 years behind the bar at Keeneland and Churchill Downs. A fixture. The kind of person who knew everybody's name and made every trip to the track feel like coming home. He passed away in 2024.

Tonight, under the lights at Churchill, a horse carrying his name will run in the Kentucky Oaks.

Some stories deserve to be told.

Percy's Bar HAD final prep for @colebrookstable for the Kentucky Oaks @keeneland. Time is of NO importance here, your eyes tells you what you need to know. She started back 5 lengths behind a Tregetour (KY) (0 for 4 maiden- whom wouldn't push her to do more than what Ben wanted), and was under a stout hold thru the lane, official time of 49.3, out in 103 and 118.1. Time & company tells you what Ben wanted, easy, look at how the rider has her, he his double over like he is doing crunchies in the saddle, as you know she can roll in the morning. She did it all on own and galloped out well. Too many connections blow their horses too fast, to prove points, Ben just wants a filly that is ready, sharp and most of all how he handled her this morning he thinks she is fit mentally and physically for next week, not wow onlookers. YOU DON'T NEED TO SEE FAST GALLOPS, FAST WORKS, TO KNOW A HORSE IS READY
