Had Gordon scored it likely goes extras and it’s Holland for a second inning against MadBum for a sixth inning

@jazayerli Love that it’s Costas! He called the 1985 ALCS & he was so good- especially Game 3 (the George Brett Game). Also love that it’s Darling too. He called the entire magical 2014 Royals run carving through the entire American League. Bring on the good nostalgia!

@KSeaboldt Was 1976 and 2024 only times Royals clinched playoffs off another teams loss? Because definitely previous 4 times they made playoffs they clinched with a win (2015 - SEA, 2014 - @ CHW, 1985 - OAK, 1984 - @ OAK)

@jazayerli That 1989 team - under this playoff format - would have been a very tough out, even for Oakland. 1989 second half Sabes might have had the greatest ever most dominant pitching stretch in Royals franchise history….

@reubendashroy @KCMagicNumber The answer is yes. Royals win tomorrow and Twins lose tonight and tomorrow, there’s your 3. As far as Mariners are concerned (and Red Sox) Magic number to eliminate them is 1 so Royals win tomorrow definitely eliminates Seattle (and Boston but Boston is about ready to lose now)

@KCMagicNumber Isn’t it really 9? Unless there’s like a 3 or more team tiebreaker where KC is screwed (only way is if maybe they had 3 way tie with MIN & BOS?) - it’s 9. If DET & KC tie, KC definitely has the tiebreaker already regardless of what happens at the K next week (KC leads DET 7-3)
