In 2019, I visited Al Masjid Al Aqsa in Al Quds, occupied Palestine - where I heard a Palestinian political thinker deliver a lecture about the plight of Venezuela in the current world order. At the time Venezuela was suffering an acute economic crisis with hyperinflation despite being an oil-rich state. It was under constant threat from the USA, which was inciting political unrest within the country.

He argued the world needed an alternative order to provide justice for humanity - which he said would only come once Muslims returned to an Islamic way of life.

Some might have wondered back then whether he was exaggerating the need for the change in an international order.

Yet six years later, the current architecture of international law and world order constructed in the aftermath of World War II—embodied in the United Nations Charter, the Geneva Conventions, and the principle that might does not make right—now lies in tatters. READ ON

There are always ‘Muslim’ rulers foolish enough to think that by disobeying Allah (swt) and being ‘clever’ in dealing with the West, they will somehow succeed and their country will prosper.

Recent history is littered with so many such Muslim rulers who were used to fulfil the agenda of Western powers .

Now, Erdogan and the statements from Syria’s Al-Shara come to mind. When accounted, some say they are being ‘clever’. It is not cleverness to disobey Allah (swt), meet with the American/British and other colonialists and to talk of ‘peace’ with the Zionist entity slaughtering and starving Gaza and bombing Syria. It is foolishness and will not lead to the help of Allah - the Best of Helpers, the One more powerful than the western powers.

The fundamental difference between today’s Muslim rulers/states and the Islamic Khilafah state is that the Khalifah is elected to implement the Islamic shariah in all aspects of life. So it is a state built on obedience to Allah (swt), it solves lives problems by the Shariah of Allah tackling social, economic, political and global matters with Allah’s solutions. May Allah (swt) grant us the re-establishment of the Khilafah soon.
