The closure is due to a crash. There is no reopening time.

Grateful for the @apsFYI employees who volunteered to help plant shade trees in Ajo. Many happy residents will be provided shade with minimal water usage thanks to the APS Community Tree program & Ajo Garden Club. 75 trees were planted in Ajo by volunteers over a few days.

SR 85 is closed for unknown amount of time due to a fatality accident. The highway is currently closed at Gila Bend and north of Ajo.

Ajo Fire units are currently responding to a vehicle fire at MP 63 on SR85. Expect delays in the area. Please yield to emergency vehicles and watch for first responders.

APS crews worked long hours in the heat & through the night to repair many power poles, lines & transformers damaged in the monsoon storm that hit Ajo yesterday. They are working on restoring the last 4 @apsFYI customers. Thanks for your patience & support. 📸: @ajofire Chief

@apsFYI @PimaSheriff @ajofire @pimaarizona @pcoemhs Field personnel have been able to isolate damagee, down to ~38 @apsFYI customers out of power. Ice available at Olsen’s IGA. Heavy crews will work through the night to repair damaged poles, transformers and cross arms. Thanks for patience as we repair from the severe storm.
