The @champaignfire Dept. also had another great year in 2024. Last year, they responded to 11,045 calls for service, logged 17,427 training hours, provided 1,280 hours of professional development, processed 4,202 building permits totaling $147.2M, & conducted 7,996 inspections.
This morning, a local family marked #NationalFirstRespondersDay by dropping off a cake so amazing that we needed to call in backup to handle it! Great thing @ChampaignFire is always there when we need them. We are all thankful for this beautiful display of cake and kindness!
Last night, the City of Champaign kicked off our Fire Prevention Week 2024 campaign with Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen proclaiming October 6-12 as Fire Prevention Week, urging the people of Champaign to make sure they have working smoke alarms in their homes.

Champaign firefighters will "Fill the Boot" for MDA tomorrow, 7/13, in front of County Market, 2901 W Kirby Ave, and Sam's Club, 915 W. Marketview Dr., from 1:00-4:00 pm. Come out and say hi!
