@ATCNY@ToutWars@DerekCarty@DerekVanRiper@andybehrens These standings seem pretty standard.
Assuming a binomial distribution, you'd expect the first place team to be 8-3 and the 8th place team to be 5-6.
Is this unusual for a competitive league?
Some notes from Kevin Cash on @RaysRadio today:
- Christopher Morel will be playing LF
- Eloy Jimenez lost close to 25 pounds this offseason
- The prospects like Carson Williams, Xavier Isaac, Tre Morgan, Chandler Simpson and Brayden Taylor will be playing a lot this spring
@ATCNY Colt Keith 1B
Xander Bogaerts SS
Jorge Polanco 3B
Tyler Fitzgerald 2B
Joey Ortiz SS
Willson Contreras 1B
Jazz Chisholm Jr. 2B
Brooks Lee 2B
Jose Miranda 1B
@billjamesonline It is no different from how current sabermetricians mention about Bill James. It is about respecting who came before you. Even if people today are way better.
@pirates_at448@PitcherList It doesn't matter how good Lugo is. All that matters is what happened on the field. ERA has an inherent flaw in that it overreacts to blowups when that equates to only one loss.
@PitcherList Precisely. It is raw results. Lugo has done more to help his team win than Skubal has. The only reason Skubal is the favorite is because of his Ks and that he gets more run support. Lugo is being penalized for a few blowup starts.
