@illegenes There were many things that got me but the one that's stuck for a while is how, in the beginning through the self-injury, constructing the bow, etc. it's made abundantly clear that the easiest form of communication he knows is violence (from having been raised surrounded by it).
And finally, as someone who processes grief more like Youko than anyone else in this movie, it was nice to see that the people who cared about her despite not always understanding her prickly personality also didn't denigrate her for it. Good shit.
Watching Ride Your Wave for the first time tonight and I am so mad that I didn't see the twist prior to the third act coming because it's so anime it hurts (good way).
There is a new Drops of God live action adaptation and it is good (as of episode 1). I really love this manga and was floored to find that they made a recent television release of it.

@adaywithoutme__@illegenes I did enjoy Rebellion though, mainly because it actually does subvert a lot of magical girl tropes and even if it did not intend to do that, and additionally was only made to make money, even if these things are true, I still think what it did is interesting despite that.
@adaywithoutme__@illegenes Big agree, especially on the last part. It seems like nothing is allowed to be complete, provided that it can make more money. T_T
@illegenes@adaywithoutme__ Mainly because it was immediately apparent that a lot of people who were commenting on it as a deconstruction/etc. of magical girl series...hadn't actually watched many of them. ^ ^;
@thorgriim01@CureFosh I'm so sorry for your loss. You don't know me at all but your brother was one of the first people who started talking to me about anime when I first became active on anitwitter. He was always so enthusiastic and warm and kind. He'll be sorely missed. <3
god i love having mutuals who have interests entirely separate from mine. i pass them on the timeline and am always giving them a thumbs up. i donโt know that man but he is beautiful and tortured-looking and i hope youโre having the time of your life with him
A few weeks ago my sister was in a group ride organized by friends. They were joined by someone off the street who hit her from behind, causing her to crash violently. He fled.
She was discharged this week but is unable to work, so we need a bit of help
