🇳🇬 Nigeria's First Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action 🍃 // Spokesman, @officialABAT // Patriot // Father of 5 // SSA to PMB (2019-23) // 🦅🇳🇬🦅
My Father, My President, Happy Birthday.
On my first day serving in the present government, I only knew H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as my President. My Boss. The leader of our great nation, Nigeria.
I had not had the privilege of being around him, except on two brief occasions before that day, despite a very active campaign effort on his behalf.
I could not have known then that I would find in him my most profound mentor and nothing less than a father in the truest sense of the word.
The President has been nicknamed the Last Man Standing.
The last man standing does not merely describe a man who heroically campaigned across all nooks of our federation against institutional forces who conspired to deny our population its currency and fuel.
The last man standing does not also merely describe Daddy as the perpetual winner, triumphant over perpetual candidates, who has won every election he has ever participated in dating back to his school days.
For those who have the rare privilege of knowing him, he is the last man standing in your corner when all odds are stacked against you; rooting you on and guiding you to success.
Daddy taught me that the cost and value of rigorous mentorship is the price of a glorious future and that it is only paid back once it is paid forward to the next generation.
Daddy taught me that appropriate patience and strategic restraint will defeat hard power.
Daddy taught me that consistent persuasion born out of sincere conviction will break the coercive grip of those who beguile and bully others into submission.
There are too many invaluable morsels of wisdom and expertise gleaned in the presence of my father to share in this short recognition, but I am and will always be honoured to be associated with our nation's greatest reformer.
On this special day, I turn to my Father:
Daddy, I thank you for making the selfless and deliberate choice to use your life's candlelight to kindle the candle flames of those who will illuminate this dark world for generations to come.
May God Almighty strengthen you with divine wisdom, peace, health, and all that is required of you to deliver the country of our dreams.
Happy Birthday.

The re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun election is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country under the All Progressives Congress administration.
I called Governor Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01 earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him.
I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years. Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.
I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country’s democratic culture. The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land.
I must also commend the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
May our democracy continue to thrive and be strengthened
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Every Nigerian deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of where they live or what they earn.
Since assuming office, our administration, through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, has embarked on one of the most ambitious and comprehensive transformations of our health sector in decades.
We are revitalising Primary Healthcare Centres, expanding health insurance, protecting millions of children through immunisation, strengthening our health workforce, upgrading specialist hospitals, improving maternal and child health, and positioning Nigeria to become a hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and healthcare investment.
The progress is becoming evident:
- 6 million more Nigerians added to health insurance.
- 4,161 Primary Healthcare Centres under revitalisation, with 3,158 already completed.
- 14,283 PHCs, representing more than half of all PHCs in Nigeria, are now functional.
- More than 102 million children vaccinated against Measles-Rubella, and 17.1 million girls protected against cervical cancer through the HPV vaccine.
- 78,054 frontline health workers trained, and 20,000 health professionals recruited into our Federal Tertiary Hospitals.
- 503 health infrastructure projects delivered nationwide, alongside the development of 3 world-class cancer centres.
These reforms are about saving lives today while building a stronger, more resilient health system for generations to come.
The Nigeria Health Sector Impact Report below highlights some of the major milestones recorded so far under the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII). I encourage you to read it.
A healthier Nigeria is central to our Renewed Hope Agenda. We are building a healthier, stronger and more prosperous nation, one reform, one community and one life at a time.
Our work continues. The best days of Nigerian healthcare are still ahead of us.

I commend all our patriotic front-line soldiers in the fight against terrorism in all forms.
You stand as a shield between innocent citizens and those who seek to destroy the peace, safety, and dignity of our communities.
In the forests, on the roads, at forward operating bases, in the air, creeks, and across difficult terrains, you carry the burden of national protection so that millions of Nigerians can sleep, work, worship, farm, trade, and raise their children in hope.
This fight has not been easy. It has come with pain, pressure, and sacrifice. But your courage has remained firm. Your service is acknowledged. Your sacrifice is honoured. Your country does not take you for granted.
To every officer and soldier of our Armed Forces, to the Police, DSS, Civil Defence, intelligence services, local security formations, and all who work day and night to keep Nigeria safe, I say thank you.
I also acknowledge the families behind the uniform. Many of you have endured long absences, anxious nights, and the emotional cost of duty. Nigeria remembers that sacrifice, too.
We honour those who have paid the supreme price in defence of our country. Their names may not always trend, but their courage lives on in rescued communities, protected families, and the survival of the nation they served.
The fight against terror is not only a military operation. It is a national duty. Citizens must support our security forces by providing timely, useful information. When you see something, say something. When you know something, report it.
Nigeria will not surrender to fear. We will not allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, or violent extremists to define who we are as a people. Their violence is not our identity. Their hatred does not represent Nigerians of any faith, creed, or community.
To our troops and all front-line patriots, thank you for your courage. Thank you for your vigilance. Thank you for your service.
May the Almighty protect you as you protect our country.

The United States commends the Nigerian government for its strong commitment to expediting trials addressing terrorism and related crimes. We welcome the convictions of 386 Islamist militants in cases that had previously faced significant delays in the courts, and we recognize this as an important step toward accountability and justice. We believe that timely and transparent legal processes are critical in confronting extremism and reinforcing public trust in judicial institutions. Upholding the rule of law remains essential to ensuring the safety, stability, and long-term security of all Nigerians, and we support continued efforts to strengthen judicial efficiency and fairness across the country.
Good evening all. As we prepare for Party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos state to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos state from 2027-2035 IJN. Amen!

THE BLESSED HOPE IN CHRIST’S RESSURECTION
Easter is a reminder of the enduring power of love and the selfless sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the hope His resurrection brings to all humanity.
As we celebrate Easter with our loved ones, friends, neighbours and communities, let us remember those in need and extend compassion and support wherever we can.
May the spirit of Easter inspire us to uplift the vulnerable, love one another, make sacrifices when necessary and work together to build a peaceful and prosperous nation for all.
Happy Easter!
Her Excellency,
Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON
First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
The Body of Benchers approved the appointment of former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN, CON) as a Bencher of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. A University of Benin Law graduate called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988, Fashola began his career in general litigation at Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe and Belgore before spending 14 years in private practice.
His subsequent public service career spanned over two decades, during which he served as Chief of Staff and Commissioner in Lagos State, a two-term Lagos State Governor, and a two-term Federal Minister from 2015 to 2023. In 2004, he became the first member of his law school class and the second University of Benin graduate to be conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Fashola’s distinguished service has earned him international acclaim, including the 2015 Stephen J. Solarz Award for his role in social improvement and Ebola containment, as well as recognition from TIME, The Economist, and Lo Spazio della Politica as a top global thinker.
This afternoon, I spent time with stakeholders and victims of the recent terror incident in Jos, Plateau State.
No amount of money can bring back the dead, but the Federal Government will do our best to comfort them, walk with them and provide necessary assistance. Rhoda Favour, I feel your pain but no matter what we say, we cannot bring Ayuba back.
We will find the perpetrators of this dastardly acts.

PBAT @ 74: REMINISCENCE OF A FORMER ENVOY & SPOKESMAN
An old axiom famously states that the truest measure of a teacher's greatness is the extent to which their transfer of knowledge resonates, not during the course of study, but long after the student ventures out beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Today, I reflect upon a great teacher. It is true that I am one presidential spokesman who will never write a book about my cherished time in that exalted office — not for lack of memory retention and copious documentation — but born out of a deep appreciation that the most prized experiences are sometimes best kept to one's bosom until the end.
However, for every year that God Almighty is pleased to add to the life of my Father and Boss, H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, I consider it a solemn honour and obligation to posterity to share specific insights I gleaned from the greatest strategic mind that our nation has ever produced.
Ever discerning of all actors within the vast sphere of Mr. President's influence — their strengths, their weaknesses, their histories, their motivations, the limits of their fidelity, and their utility in the larger development picture of the country he oversees from the apex — the magisterial eye of the 16th head of state is uniquely guided by the heart of a gardener; one who loves to see good seed grow into all that it has been prepared to become.
While I certainly cannot and will never assert that I stand amongst Daddy's illustrious sons and pupils, I can attest that the day I met H.E. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I could be defined by a vulnerability that comes with most political outsiders and new-to-government technocrats: a knee-jerk instinct to immediately solve a problem once encountered.
The Great Teacher — wielding profound examples, deep native wisdom, and ruthless pragmatism refined in the inferno of life-and-death problem-solving experience — proved that in Nigerian public sector leadership, there are peculiar multi-phase problems for which attentive restraint and foresight are required to resolve. That some problems, in later phases, reveal the final solution to all stages of it, which would be missed in a premature, impatient, but well-meaning rush to address it during the infancy of that same problem.
Daddy, in the silent night's inner sanctum of the suit-and-gun fortified fortress, with his trademark depth of monolithic attention paid to me in the moment, paradigm-shifted me in hushed tones to understand that the heart to solve a problem is not enough for a leader to possess; neither is it sufficient to accurately diagnose a problem. But that the fullness of effective leadership entails the accurate sequencing, timing, tailoring, and application of solutions while taking into deliberate account all prevailing factors within the ecosystem of a problem.
In the frenetic time of throne room mentorship, I was double-appointed and tasked simultaneously at 37 years of age to be the voice of Africa’s most powerful leader and a mandate-carrying special envoy to the rest of the world on an existential crisis facing all of humanity. In the busyness of that season, much learning could not fully sink in.
And yet, years after leaving office, new levels of understanding of rich but not fully grasped wisdom spoken to me years prior by the great teacher are unlocked. Presently, as an enterprise owner and father of five children, far removed from the intricacies and jousting of power's corridors, I rely more than ever on words spoken to me by my Father and Teacher while I write the content of this quiet chapter of my life.
As inhabitants of a world in which hyper-ambitious but undertalented men rule over the best to the detriment of all, we are fortunate as Nigerians, in this defining hour of our national history, to be led by a man of merit whose brave rise was not defined by who he knew but by the measure of his performance at every pivot point on his hard-earned ascent to power...
