When "Waiting for the Hears" (1985) was released in Argentina, it wasn't very well received. However, years after, when it was aired on TV for the first time on a weekly TV show about Argentine cinema, the rating was so high that they had put it on again the very next week, at the request of the audiences. The movie is generally broadcasted on Sundays since the events in the movie take place on the day.
It's popularity grew and grew with the years and now it is considered one of the best Argentine films ever. It has millions of fans and Social media groups devoted to it, with thousands of people commenting any kind of subject by using only lines from the film. The dialogues from the movie have spawned catchphrases and expressions that have since been incorporated to the everyday language of both Argentina and Uruguay.
