@BIKABOUT Wow- just reading in Denmark about Rousseau and the ?1700s discussion that children were not miniature adults but had different needs as they grow up and develop…didn’t realize that was revolutionary thought a couple of centuries ago! Congrats Megan!
@BIKABOUT Consider history or introduction of why safe routes for unaware; change of children being driven compared to when parents were kids who walked/ rode to school on bikes. Maybe re: card waiting for kids and engines running/ polluting.
@BIKABOUT @levelhotels oh...I used to listen to cat power & still do...wow...Moon Pix...love her latest renditions of Dylan...esp thin man, stuck in mobile...
@CoachBalto@CarSharing_US Sam just got an award from American League of Bicyclists for his passion and follow thru of creating the Bike Bus to school last night in Washington DC. Congrats Sam!
Congrats to Sam Balto for the league of American Bicycles award last night in Washington DC. His leadership and passion for Bike Busing in Portland is an amazing role model for all schools in all places. Excellent!
@BIKABOUT What a sweet story; much to be thankful for in our dim world. Thanks for sharing and providing a great role model for those who need beckoning. Happy Turkey Day and waiting to see the baked delights ! Z
@BIKABOUT This is such a cultural shift from 20 yrs ago. NYC parents : the big step for their kids was taking the subway from Brklyn to Manhattan! For me as a 4th grader was biking 6 miles into the country. I still wonder if the Amber law didn’t make everyone paranoid.
@revsantoslyons You may want to re-evaluate Mapps on his poor handling of PBOT the past six months. His opaque transparency and poor grasp of vulnerable roads users is surfacing quickly. It is not a good barometer of a mayoral leader or of bureau director. He never uses action verbs.
@ExpatPortland@sarahforpdx Actually the the mulitple daily trains to Seattle work very well. I use them instead of being stuck in traffic and having to tolerate all the lane changing endangering drivers.
@Jonathan_Maus@CitiBikeNYC Hope you get to ride both east side and west side bike lanes...Columbe coffee is the best...we love the one by NYC! go across the Brooklyn and come back on the Manhatten...so much to do by bike!
