Day 2 of the HTB CWES exam, and I’ve officially crossed the 80-point passing mark!
I haven’t taken an exam since eJPT, so I was pretty nervous going into this one. Huge relief to get past the line.
Taking a quick breather, then it’s back to the remaining flags and the report.

🧑‍💻 We went back to the drawing board and rebuilt the exam experience from the ground up, putting significant effort into creating challenges that demand 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗵, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

@TheSecOpsGroup Rather than fixating on powershell.exe, I’d enumerate allowed paths. The error points to AppLocker/SRP, so I’d test powershell_ise.exe or the SysWOW64 copy, try copying binaries to C:\Windows\Tasks, and probe LOLBINs (mshta, rundll32) to map the attack surface.
