Last year, Chhatra League leader Momin was killed, and his body was allegedly dumped in the Turag River.The brutality that began last year continues to this day.This time, Ariful, Biplob, and Suman were allegedly murdered, and their bodies were dumped in the Turag River. Four more activists remain missing.

On 23 June 2026, marking the founding anniversary of the Awami League, several Chhatra League leaders and activists held a peaceful rally and human chain. According to the allegation, seven activists were abducted from that procession by BNP–Jamaat supporters. Among them, the bodies of three were later recovered from the Turag River near Dhaka, while the remaining four are still missing.

Tragic news from Bangladesh. Mahbub Alam Babu, a Bangladesh student League political activist, was brutally beaten to death in Mehendiganj, Barishal.

His crime? Participating in a peaceful rally celebrating the founding anniversary of his political party, the Awami League, on June 23. Reports state he was targetted and murdered by opposition BNP cadres simply for his political affiliation.

Political violence must not be normalized.
