The day a feudal lord is truly held accountable for his crimes is the day Zardari’s fiefdom begins to fall. The entire system runs on patronage, protection, and impunity. What they call democracy is a captive system, where the people fundamental rights & justice are all hostage.
This sketch is my tribute to Imaan Mazari & the heavy price of dissent in Pakistan today. I wanted to honor her, capture her presence, her smile & her humanity. A voice for the disappeared, she now faces her own battle behind bars. May she continue to inspire

PAKISTAN: Today’s arrest of human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali is the latest escalation in a sustained campaign of judicial harassment and intimidation by the Pakistani authorities.
Imaan and Hadi were arrested today while on their way to a court hearing and eyewitnesses report that law enforcement officials used undue force against both the lawyers and no reasons were provided at the time of arrest, raising serious concerns about their safety.
Amnesty International is alarmed by the manner of the arrest, lack of adherence to due process and by the authorities’ continued pursuit of spurious and retaliatory cases aimed solely at silencing Imaan and Hadi for their human rights work and dissent. This familiar playbook of harassment and intimidation must end. Amnesty International calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately release Imaan Mazari‑Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha and drop all charges targeting them solely for their work defending human rights.
You can be delusional and say Mars is in Punjab but the history, facts and maps are the reality. Karachi is in Sindh and Sindh was there before Pakistan. Sindh will always be an integral and proud part of Pakistan. Love diversity of Pakistan, don’t divide ppl based on it
Every struggle counts. Baloch women protested in Islamabad—did u mention them? A Sindhi journalist was killed on the pretext of being a Zionist—any word for him? You stay silent on establishment’s actions against Sindhis, Baloch, and Pashtuns, yet you lecture others. Slow 👏🏾
But why? What have they actually done? The courts have lost their way, law enforcement is out of control, and the politicians are no better. Just tell me honestly, do you think there's any room left for dissent in this country? Civilians are bombed, abducted, and forcibly disappeared. Political activists from Peripheries are arrested and detained. And now, those who dare to question authority are slapped with non-bailable warrants.
This August as Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day I have a small announcement.
The cover reveal of my first book.
Pakistan Lost is a project I’ve worked on for the past two years, I cannot wait for all you to read it.
At Sea View, in the midst of rain, a young girl struggling to make ends meet was selling flowers. I love the scent of motia, so I offered to buy a pair of bangles. She said, “Rs. 150.” I handed her four 50-rupee notes. She walked away, then turned back holding one 50-rupee note, telling me I had paid extra and insisted on returning it.
Our governance system has robbed this young girl of a normal childhood, a formal education, security, and opportunities—yet she displayed more integrity than those running this city and the country.
Shanti, a 20 year old woman, has passed away today after 20 days of being in coma & 36 days of being brutally raped by her husband, Ashok Kumar. We had earlier posted about the horrible ordeal Shanti went through, and the complicity of Ashok’s family, Anklesaria Hospital and..
My heart sinks reading this — Humaira passed away 6 months ago and no one noticed. No family, no friends, no neighbors. Maybe she was sick. Maybe she needed help. Maybe a little check-in could have saved her. 💔
