@pedoscanrot@universityofga I wish, and that also Yale, and the Netherlands, and the Smithsonian would give back our pieces. It's ironic that other cultures are being given back their artifacts but the Caribbean is disregarded.
@PammyDee @Deoliver47 @universityofga Also, it is not just Vieques but over 300 archaeological sites around the island, 400 boxes of documents, and artifacts that belong to the people of the Caribbean who are descendants of those indigenous people. It is part of our identity and historical heritage.
@universityofga The General Public will not have access to these Pieces, does this apply to the people of the Caribbean which is their heritage and patrimony?
@universityofga Safekeeping means that you are withholding artifacts that only a privileged few will only have access to. Quote from Article: Qualified researchers may access the new collection by coordinating directly with Thompson and the lab. #looting#PuertoricoHistory#tainontwitter
@PammyDee @Deoliver47 @universityofga They were looted when the US navy decided they were going to take over Vieques for their bombing practices which lasted 60 years. The people were forced out of their homes.
@universityofga Oh, wow, you’re literally boasting that you’re now in possession of artefacts that your country’s military looted from a country it invaded and whose inhabitants it forcibly displaced. https://t.co/i4qexng2XM
@NegraYLibre @Deoliver47 It's the continuous historical erasure of indigenous descendants on the island because of... COLONIALISM, further erasure of identity which has been prevalent for centuries. Just like the Caribbean is undervalued in regards to archaeological study.
@universityofga Wow, the privilege of celebrating the donation of looted artifacts from the 1940's which belong to the Puerto Rican people. Shame on you, give them back to us.
The academic US privilege Celebrating the donation of artifacts that were looted by the US Navy in the 1940's, Puerto Rican Patrimony which belongs to the Puerto Rican People.
There’s a little Caribbean history here in Athens—just for safekeeping. With the addition of a new collection courtesy of the U.S. Navy, UGA's Laboratory of Archaeology now cares for one of the largest collections of Puerto Rican artifacts in the country. https://t.co/6LtJvC89x9
There’s an influx of people moving from the states to Puerto Rico invited by tax breaks.
Some locals say they’re getting pushed out by investors looking to make money. Investors say they’re creating opportunities. Watch the rest of the video here: https://t.co/DTdN4jCXtd
Recent tax incentives Act60/20/22 was initially created to import new businesses incentives into the island of Puerto Rico for the benefit of its people. However, the Act/ law is a hoax. For more information click on the link below and please sign.

. . .I hate so many of you with the passion of a 1000 burning suns for this. I woke up to this in my inbox.
Well, okay, then, fine.
Let's settle it. Who has the better glare of doom that makes you buy books? Me, or @GrittyNHL?
