The Nagrota terrorist attack occurred on November 29, 2016, when a group of heavily armed militants targeted an Indian Army unit near Jammu, India. The attackers, dressed in Indian police uniforms, stormed the 16 Corps Headquarters in Nagrota, approximately 20 km from Jammu city. They initiated the assault around 5:30 AM IST, opening fire and throwing grenades at the Officers' Mess and family quarters.

Key Details:

Casualties: Seven Indian soldiers, including two officers—Major Akshay Girish Kumar and Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir—were martyred. All three militants involved in the attack were neutralized during the operation.

Tactics: The terrorists divided into two groups. One group attacked the Officers' Mess, while the other targeted the family quarters. They took several individuals hostage, including women and children, before being neutralized.
