How does a handmade gift become a ₹17,000 photo frame?

My parcel CP317739403PL was charged ₹5,800 after a handmade frame was valued at ₹17,000. My previous parcel from the same sender had more items but was charged only ₹600 nearly 9× less

@IndiaPostOffice Kolkata Customs finally responded, stating they calculated duty on a declared value of €130. However, the parcel was declared at 130 PLN (złoty), NOT €130. They asked me to apply for reassessment. Please explain how 130 PLN became €130 and look into this.

@kolkata_customs @IndiaPostOffice Are you REALLY the Foreign Post Office? Poland uses złoty (PLN), NOT euros. The declared value was 130 ZŁOTY, NOT €130. How exactly did you manage to turn 130 zł into €130? Is checking the actual currency really that difficult? This is an embarrassingly basic mistake.

@IndiaPostOffice Poor service honestly. You're already too late, I already told them to send the package back to the sender. Maybe you guys needed another whole week just to respond to that too? This is genuinely ridiculous, I've been trying to get a proper response from you guys this whole time.

@kolkata_customs @IndiaPostOffice I even called the customer service number (03322624635), but no one answered. When they finally did pick up, it didn't seem like they were interested in understanding my issue. They only asked for my tracking number, and the call was disconnected shortly afterward
