I don't hate Jamaica.
I hate the classism that acts like a mini caste system
I hate the racism that always benefits the non black people and is always extracting wealth from the working class
I hate the culture of celebrating mediocrity and calling it progress
I hate the lack of regional integration, because those at the top see Jamaica as their fiefdom to be exploited by them and then their children and opening Jamaica's governance to a regional body would disrupt their cash flows
I hate the culture of sexual and mental abuse our children are subjected to on a daily basis because we refuse to hold sexual predators to account in our society
I hate the lack of investment in the social safety net by those in power (the EXPANSION of the JUTC shows how just a little investment can make a huge impact)
I hate that we're not allowed to govern ourselves in any meaningful way and that we do not want to change that.
I hate that most people in Jamaica who aren't gainfully employed feel like they're wasting their lives away trying to make ends meet in a country that continues to exploit them by allowing the people who own property or provide services to peg the price of their goods to the USD but not the local currency.
I don't hate Jamaica, I hate what we have become
can ask a serious question? where the notion that Beyoncé can’t act come from? because my girl gave award worthy performances in both Cadillac records and Dreamgirls
If your first move is to stop sharing your location and removing me off social media before hitting my phone and communicating what you feeling froggy about you’re childish and I don’t need you around.
