An unexpectedly productive visit to Sutton Bingham Reservoir this afternoon - a wood warbler and pied fly!! The former a new site bird for me, and my first ever spring pied fly!
Having made thousands of visits to Sutton Bingham Reservoir and spent hours speculating about what might turn up, I don't think I ever considered Forsters Tern as a realistic option!! Thanks to Ash Warne for sharing in the identification.
@NiallMachin1 @BirdGuides Yes, forty years later I still remember the Squacco 'phone-box' night.... the box was a last resort for shelter after failing to be able to climb into my own rucksack!

A glossy ibis was at Sutton Bingham reservoir this evening. Seen several times in flight and last seen at dusk, so its likely to be roosting here tonight.
Great white egret at Sutton Bingham Reservoir today. It has taken a surprisingly long time to see one at SBR this year given that they are now a frequent bird at most Somerset wetlands.
