So glad I got to write this profile of Samara Weaving ahead of CAROLINA CAROLINE, a movie I think she’s fantastic in. My first time writing one of these!
With Carolina Caroline hitting theaters June 5, there's no better time to spotlight the incredible Samara Weaving. 🌟
From The Babysitter to Ready or Not, the Australian actress has cemented her status as a true Scream Queen — and with her latest role, she's showing audiences a whole new side of her talent.

Might be because I grew up with the prequels, but I don’t hold Star Wars to a very high standard. If there’s some cool stuff that looks cool, take the win
Finally saw THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU, had a fun time. My biggest issue with the show has always been that it sometimes looks like crap, and the leap to feature fixed that, so how could I not enjoy it?
Love and support OBSESSION & BACKROOMS sparking this discussion about Gen Z’s filmmaking moment— also worth mentioning LIFEHACK in that conversation. Smaller movie, but I had that same sense of my generation being ready to have a voice in cinema
I quite liked BACKROOMS. So much about how this is put together is engaging and creepy. I just wish it was the character drama was as good as it wants to be - Mary's arc works much better for me than Clark's, and that's a problem
Love the ending, though!
Never a great sign when something isn’t screened for critics…
LADIES FIRST is a bad film. Solidly put together and full of great actors, but insultingly stupid at its core. Sorta can’t believe this was made in 2026, but also, like, of course it was
Always fun to review a film by a master filmmaker - even better when I loved it
My @screenrant review of Pedro Almodóvar's BITTER CHRISTMAS

I appreciate what you're doing guys but it's okay. You don't have to pretend all the Cannes movies are bad just to make me feel better about not being there
OBSESSION freaked me out in a way horror movies rarely do anymore. But it’s also so funny, somehow without making it any less scary
That combo in a packed theater is enormously fun. I didn’t shake off the feeling for hours
There's plenty to love in MAGIC HOUR, but I couldn't get close enough to it. This kind of self-consciously artful style is an allergy of mine

The new Billie Eilish movie is really good! I think I worked out why James Cameron was drawn to making it in the first place, and it's what really separates this from a standard concert doc

I fully expect another round of that "for the fans not critics" bs, but have the stans considered that everyone would be better off if the studios felt even the slightest pressure to raise the bar for movies like this? Even if you like MK2, you wouldn't like it better?
‘DESERT WARRIOR’ is tracking to be one of the biggest box office flops of all time.
The Saudi Arabia-funded film has earned $488K so far on a $150M budget.
