Delhi Air Quality Index (AQI) Today
The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi is 458, which means the air quality is Hazardous right now. The main pollutant today is PM10: 339.92, PM25: 378.56, NO2: 97.67, SO2: 22.23, O3: 9.95, CO: 120.53.

I had to do a short interview with one of the news channels and we decided to go to Anand Vihar Metro Station, as this being one of the most polluted areas of Delhi, and also has one of the two SMOG TOWERS, and also is infamous for mischievous AQI monitoring. Here is what we found, also evidenced through videos:
1) AQI monitors are all surrounded by trees, is far away from where the real pollution needs to be measured, perhaps closer to where human activity was;
2) Entire area was sprinkled with water, also had water sprinkling trucks taking rounds. Clearly monitors can’t give the true pollution reading;
3) SMOG TOWER, that I also call Woo-do science, was shut down hen we reached, was switched on after an hour, and was told that it operates a few hours on few days. It following working hours, and working days schedule, as if pollution follows a govt circular of work timings and holidays etc;
4) SMOG TOWER was less than 20 meters from the Air Quality Monitors;
5) Apart from sprinkling water through tankers, there were two smog guns installed atop the building next to it, pointing towards the AQI monitor. It was shut when we reached, and as soon as we left, it was turned on again.

In conclusion, manipulating data is not called governance. I wonder why would keep AQI monitors under a tree, in a secluded area, sprinkle water all the time over and around it, have a smog tower gigantic air purifiers just feets away from the monitoring station.

Why even pretend to measure??

The deafening silence of all big Ministers of Central Government, starting with the Prime Minister himself shows that no one cares. It is giving a very wrong message to all Citizens. IMO, it is inexcusable that you put the Citizens to such high pollutant exposure and health problems.

Perhaps, if the top Ambassador's in New Delhi start speaking about the polluted air or a Visiting Head of State refuses to come citing hazardous environment, will be the time that those wilfully ignorant will have to wake up the magnitude of this Pollution crisis. And, leaving patches, this is a Pan India Crisis. Not just a Delhi Problem.

Sir, @narendramodi and @jpnaddaoffice @fssai @mohfw, it's a national shame that FSSAI has consented to the request by JNTL(the Indian subsidiary of Kenvue which is a spin off of Johnson and Johnson) for a stay order to dispose of it's stock of high sugar ORSL!
Sir, not only now, in future also, except WHO recommended formula ORS, no sachet or tetrapack should be allowed in the pharmacies(including online), hospitals, and schools, as far as rehydrating medicines are concerned. ORS should never be allowed to be used on the labels except for WHO Recommended Formula ORS even if these liquids are being sold in the supermarkets and quick commerce platforms only! Trusting that you will ensure the October 15th order is implemented with urgency!
